THROUGH: The Kindness of God Through Christ

from CityReach Cumberland · host CityReach Cumberland

There is a dimension of grace called favor, that God visibly displays in His kindness toward us through Jesus Christ. While it will take all of eternity for the fullness of this favor to be unveiled, it is nonetheless being revealed to us right now. In today's teaching, we will look at several aspects of God's favor from the story of King David (a picture of Christ) in the kindness that he displayed to Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth.

Hey, good morning. Happy New Year. Who's ready? Who's ready to move into 2025?

Yeah, I know I am. I just came through the busiest six weeks of my entire life and You know my wife says true. Did you say true or did I imagine you said true? He said true You know what no matter how busy you are no matter how difficult life is that God's promise is that he will not never leave us That he's always with us that he's there every step to sustain us that in my weakness his power is perfected Like I've been through ups and downs.

I've been through stress and depress and and just challenges, but my God is faithful and Kristin and I just returned back Friday night from India What a trip was so amazing. We got to minister preach the word of God pray for so many people we saw Hindus receive Jesus What a what an amazing amazing trip Last week pastor Seth he didn't know that he was actually prophesying my future for the week But he said how great it is that we now have feet on the ground in India Well what he didn't know or maybe he did know is that everywhere you enter a house and every time you enter a church You've got to go barefoot and so I literally had feet on the ground Oh, I'm not a feet guy like I don't even like looking at my own feet. I don't like touching my feet I don't like I don't get the whole foot fetish thing. I just I don't like feet But but God has a way of Cracking for those things in your life that you just don't like and so yeah, so I got to I'm a guy in the airport I put socks like I don't walk barefoot through the airport like I just don't like feet But man God did God shouns me in that got to got to walk barefoot in a lot of places I kind of like it now.

I'm thinking about taking my boots off today. I had to preach barefoot It was quite fun preaching barefoot and eating with my fingers. That was that was just the highlight of my week Got to learn out. There's a whole technique that it's called mixing where you mix your food together and scrunch it And then you like put it in your mouth pretty cool.

So we learned how to do that I can put a little video online if you need a little training You can go check that out on how you if you decide you want to do that kind of fun You know the I got done preaching I don't know what what day it was but I was just soaked and sweat and and I get up to announce my way I like I was dripping wet and I just get up to announce my wife and we've been married 31 years and she's always at my side And what a phenomenal wife she is and and all the all these great things and she stands up and puts her handle me goes ooh Like I just take back everything. I just said about you That we had we had a lot of fun. It came back though She had to wear a she had to be way more clothed than she's used to being You know women have to cover their head every time we pray had to be covered down to your ankles, you know And so she got quite sweaty so I gave it back to her a little bit Well good to be here today last week pastor Seth started Really just delivered our words for the year. He launched it off the word through actually should have asked you if you remember what it is But the word through that everything in life you start out with John chapter 1 verse 3 It says that talking about the word of God made flesh in the beginning was the word the word was with God and the word was God And verse 3 says all things that were made were made through him that everything visible invisible No matter what it is.

There's nothing in life that did not come to be Where was created except that it came through the word of God who we now called Jesus But his eternal name is the word we learned out a few weeks ago that because of the word of God because of Jesus Everything comes through him and so who was here last week by the way? Alright, I'll make the rest of you stand up and do a little penance now. I'm skid or not. Oh any guest here today We have any guest.

I'm at one is it okay, two very good three welcome glad to have you guys My name is pastor Fred my wife Kristen with pastor Seth and Evee sitting here I was glad to see that you finally got over your your thing last week and not every time he introduces himself He calls himself pastor Fred so that just in case you don't like what he says and I end up getting the heat But I'm glad you finally owned your own skin last week. That's a lot of it. It's a new season for you Not gonna lie in 2025. That's your new thing.

No more lies in 2025 So I really as I flew home this week I just felt like God leading me to this passage in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 7 I want to talk to you about the kindness of God that comes to us through Jesus Christ the kindness of God that comes to us through Jesus Christ I want to preach from a passage. I've never preached from before it's about eventually get there the story of a young man named Miss Babishath But he's not really the hero the story the hero the story is King David So our launching pad today if you want to if you're taking notes It's going to be Ephesians chapter 2 verses 4 through 7 the key verses is actually verse 7 And then if you want to go ahead and mark it in your Bible if you have it will be in second Samuel chapter 9 verses 1 through 13 And then guess what? I've got seven point message today See this is what this is what happens when you have one one flight that's 15 hours long You know about a seven point message now. They'll be quick.

I could probably spend three hours preaching this But I want to give you seven things today Aspects seven aspects about the favor of God seven aspects about the favor God Let me give them to you and then if you don't get them right away writing them down You'll be on the PowerPoint is we go through what he purposes it for you. He purposes it for you. He promises it to you He puts back everything that you lost He provides continually for you. He prepares helpers for you.

He positions you as royalty and he places you near to him So we'll go through those seven things. We'll look at the story of the phibis. I mean anything about the story of meth phibis Chef show hands Wow not many maybe I should have preached on this before So we'll get into that story a little bit. Let's start out in Ephesians chapter 2.

I have this I have this labeled incorrectly It's actually the King James version not the new King James version. So you're gonna see the word ye Just in case you don't know that ye means you or if you're from West Virginia like I am y'all Or Pennsylvania's use Yeah, yeah Yinsers all right. Let's get into this Ephesians you wins. All right.

Let's bring it in we go all day on that one a phisian chapter two verses 4 through 7 it says but God who is rich in mercy because of his great love with which he loved us so because of God's love That he's rich in mercy because of God's love. He's rich in mercy Which means he has a lot of mercy to go around mercy is not receiving something bad that you deserve Right that if somebody it gives you mercy They take pity on your situation and they withhold something negative that you deserve like you deserve punishment But God in his mercy withholds it Grace is a little bit different grace is God giving you something good that you don't deserve So a little bit different but he says but God who is rich in mercy because of his great love with which he loved us Even when we were dead in trespasses made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved Now I want to point out when we talk about grace Grace is multifaceted like you cannot just define grace with a definition at the end of the day grace is a person Grace is the person of Jesus Christ He's the person of grace but as we look at the subject of grace There's different facets of grace this verse verse five talks about what I like to call saving grace that it says that God Quickened us which means he made us alive together with Jesus Christ So that when Jesus died and was buried and God brought him back to life through the power of the Holy Spirit when he brought Jesus back to life If you've accepted him as your Savior It says that he brought you back to life at the same time We've been made alive or we've been quickened together with him for by grace. You've been saved So this is talking about saving grace, right? Once I've been made alive.

I don't need to be made alive again Right? I've been made alive So this saving grace is something that you tap into the time that you put your faith and trust in Jesus And then for six kids want to say and raised us up together and made us sift together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus I like to call this empowering grace It's saving grace when he quickens or makes you alive But it's empowering grace or grace that enables you or gives you power when it speaks of that He raised us up with Christ and he seated us with Christ. Where's Christ seated at? He's at the right hand of the Father so he made us alive with Christ saving grace He raised us and seated us with Christ empowering grace Now why do I say it's empowering grace because back in chapter one of Ephesians chapter one It says that you might know the the exceeding power toward us believers that he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him in his right hand So that when God raised Jesus He he used miracle working power to do that and Paul says in Ephesians one when he's praying for the Ephesians church He said I want you to know that the same power that God not only raised Jesus with but the same power that he seated him with Is the same power that by grace that he imparts to us so we have saving grace we were quickened together We have empowering or enabling grace We were raised and seated together and then finally we have in verse seven what I want to call enriching grace Which is really favor enriching grace.

So a lot of times people experience saving grace. They accept Jesus as their savior Other times not everybody to get saved experiences in abling or empowering grace through the Holy Spirit But then there's other grace that I call enriching grace or the favor of God Let's read verse seven it says that so all of those things that because God loves us because he's rich and mercy because he made us alive together with Christ Because he raised us and seated us with Christ so that all that for this so that verse seven So that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us Say it through Christ Jesus that in the ages to come he might show that word show means to make a visible Demonstration either through word or through action that in the ages to come he might make a visible demonstration Which means people can see it that there's going to be a favor on your life that people can see it's a visible Demonstration that God either speaks or acts that he may show what is the exceeding the surpassing the overabundance of the riches of his grace favor is this favor is God's visible demonstration of the Abundance of the riches of his grace See we can tap into saving grace and we experience regeneration, which is the new birth we get saved We can tap into enabling grace and receive power to do the miraculous But then there's another aspect of grace enriching grace. It actually makes your life better There's grace that makes your life better and it's when that grace is upon you. It's visible like people can see that There's something on you that makes you different than everybody else and different in a good way So when it says this it says that he in the ages to come might show the exceeding surpassing riches of his grace how does he do it in kindness in kindness See favor is unusual kindness The favor of God is unusual kindness.

It's unusual approval. It's unusual acceptance It's unusual support. It's unusual permission It's kindness support permission Access acceptance that's not usual It's because why because it's sourced in heaven. It's out of the ordinary It's out of the norm and when God puts that on you people might say that you're unusual That's okay.

That's the grace of God on my life. That makes me not like everybody else And so when we read this verse we can say well It says in the ages to come and so we can walk through the next 30 40 50 60 70 80 years of life Thinking that that grace is reserved for eternity But it's in the ages to come in comparison to when you were made alive with Christ It's in the ages to come in comparison to when you were raised with Christ and seated with Christ Which means that it's for today as much as it will be for all of eternity like it'll be any it'll take all of eternity For the Father to unfold and unveil all the riches of Jesus Christ grace It'll take eternity, but he's not waiting until eternity to start that he's doing it today. He's unveiling it today He's making it visible in your life right now and just to prove that point. I'm gonna read from the message translation I'm gonna get like this is like going from Republican to Democrat, right?

I'm going from the King James to the message I'm going from right to left back in front like like you can't get polar opposites in these two versions But see what God does he brings all those things together, right? All right I don't know where that came from. That must that must have been jet lag coming out of me Here's verse seven in the message Now God has us where he wants us say that God has me where he wants me With all the time in this world and in the next to shower grace and kind of us Grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus Shower grace I took cold showers all week I went all week without a hot shower You know what when I got a hot shower My wife and I I won't go into the shower, but but but we have we have an 80 gallon hot water tank And christen like all the hot water is going like I know we've been in here for like just soaking it up But see God's hot water tank doesn't it doesn't end like it's an unending shower of grace You could you could take that shower for all of eternity and the hot water doesn't run out Just continual like it's no wonder God talks to saith in the shower Sats thought he was under the hot water, but he's under the grace of God coming down on him Every time you get in the shower. I want you to think of this verse that God has grace God has favor unusual kindness unusual Access unusual permission unusual approval and acceptance showered upon you now and for all eternity I probably just preach on this verse today like there's so much here But I want I want you to see These seven aspects of the favor of God in the story of my fibosheth So david in the bible whose name means beloved Is a picture of christ now?

He's not a perfect picture right because he had some issues in his life But nonetheless david is a picture of christ and so when we see things in david's life All these things they everything in the Old testament conceals jesus christ and is a picture pointing toward him And so the story of david in my fibosheth is this let me give you a little background My fibosheth is the grandson of king soul So you have king soul the first king of israel king soul has a son his name was jonathan Jonathan and david were best friends like like this super close And they said they loved each other which with such a love it like their their souls were joined together They were connected they were bros like really tight jonathan knew That the anointing for kingship was on david and not him See typically if sol was the king then jonathan would be the next king But not so jonathan recognized that that the anointing was on david and that was going to move to him Jonathan has a son and his son's name is mafibosheth And when mafibosheth was five years old and we're gonna not going to read this but in second samuel four verse four Back and read later Saul and jonathan go to go to war and they both get killed Like dead and so mafibosheth whose five would be the next rightful heir to the throne But his nurse doesn't know that david actually has the anointing So what she does is she scoops him up And she runs out of the house with him to protect what she thinks is the next lineage for the kingship because sol's dead Jonathan's dead who would have been the next king and now mafibosheth would be in line for the so she wants to protect him So here's this young boy who grew up in the castle He grew up in in in in as the grand son of the king had everything ever provided for five years old his dad dies Not only does his dad get killed his grandfather gets killed and then the day that the nurse made scoops him up runs out of the house She accidentally drops him and it says he became lame in his feet at five years old Now it doesn't tell us if he broke his legs and then ever recovered doesn't say that he broke his spine and he became paralyzed We don't know we just know that from five years on this young boy has lived a life of trauma that he didn't do anything to deserve He grew up with a father that was killed a grandfather that was killed and then on the same day gets dropped and becomes lame the rest of his life So there's probably some of you here today that have experienced trauma that have lived through trauma That was the result of a decision or an action that somebody else did in your life that loved you but at a young age it hurt you And you've been living with this your whole life Carrying this the guilt the shame the pain the hurt the trauma 15 to 20 years go by And now we got fast forward to the story Mafibosheth is taken to a city called Laudebar He's in the house of Mecir who is the son of MEL Which I might talk about a little bit later of time permits But he's living in Laudebar in the house of Mecir who is the son of MEL when this story takes place and David 15 to 20 years ago says this Let's read the second Samuel chapter 9 Anybody remember the story now that I gave you a little background Okay Let's just read through these 13 verses and we'll Am I watched off? Man, I might have all day Oh, okay It says now David said is there still anyone who is left in the house of soul that I may show him kindness For Jonathan's sake is there anybody so think about this David's now been king 15 to 20 years Typically if you were of the house of the previous king that was a different family and you were still alive Like you were executed you were taken out of the picture You were not allowed to live by chance that you would come back one day and try to usurp the throne that your your father or grandfather used to have So you would think that David if he was acting in the natural would say is there anybody left of the house of soul that I can take their head off But that's not what he said he says there anybody still on the face of the earth that's of the house of soul Then I can show kindness too for what for Jonathan's sake See I don't have it up. I don't think I have it up there I might but I'll read this to you just in case and first Samuel chapter 20 David makes a covenant with Jonathan He says this first Samuel 20 verses 14 and 15 So see Dave remember told you Jonathan realizes that David is the next king And so they made a covenant in chapter 18 of first Samuel, but in chapter 20 Jonathan says this like look I know my dad hates your guts and my dad's trying to kill you You know no harm no foul, but um, but here's what I'd like you to do I know dad's a real idiot But you and I are tight and I want you to make a promise to me and he says whether I live or die Here's what I want you to promise he says and you shall not only show me kindness of the lord while I live But if I die you shall not cut off the kindness to my house forever So what he's saying is like look I know you're gonna be king I know typically we would be executed but here's why I want you to make a Make a covenant with me that no matter what happens if I live you're gonna show me the kindness of god And if I die you will show the kindness of god to all of my descendants forever And David said okay And so 15 to 20 years go by and David remembers the covenant that he made with Jonathan many years ago See what happens is a lot of times we make promises And so much time goes by and situations change and we change And we think that we don't need to honor a covenant promise that we made 20 years ago because oh, you know what we're just different people today She's not the woman she was when I married her Times are different See when Jesus Christ makes a covenant He keeps it and even though David 15 to 20 years had passed he could have said well i'm king now I wasn't king then I was pressured into making a decision No, he was a man of integrity that made a covenant with Jonathan that he would keep even to his own harm And so 15 to 20 years ago by he's still looking for somebody He said is there anyone left Of the house of salt god bless you that I may oh who just sneezed? Jesus That's what they say in india I thought I thought they were like taking the Lord's name in vain But when you sneeze in india if you're a christian you say jesus And satan so jesus It's instead of god bless you.

I've been waiting for one of those And then I started saying jesus god bless you. How's it going to do it? First two and there was a servant of that we got to get going here I'm sorry There was a servant of the house of salt whose name was zeba So when they had called him to david the king said him or you zeba and he said at your service And then the king said is there not still someone of the house of soul to whom I may show the kindness of god And zeba said to the king there's still a son of jonathan who is lame in his feet And so the king said him where is he and zeba said to the king indeed He is in the house of mccir the son of amiel in low to bar Now I won't spend a lot of time here, but words mean something names mean something remember messphibishep represents us Right David the beloved represents christ Mephibosheth is in the house of mccir who was the son of amiel and he was living in low to bar Amiel the word amiel the name amel means people of god Mccir who is his son means sold Low to bar means no pasture or no communication the people of god were sold into a place of no pasture the people of god were sold into a place of no pasture or no communication We were born into slavery. We were born into the slave market of sin.

Jesus Brought us out and you're going to see that king david sends after him and brings him out And after he brings him out saving grace, you're going to see the favor that he boosheth on his life It said bersalive king david sent and brought him out of the house mccir the son of amiel from low to bar And then when mccibisheth son of jonathan the son of saul had come to david He fell on his face prostrated himself and said david said mccibisheth and he answered here is your servant So david said to him do not fear for i will surely show you kindness For your for jonathan your father's sake And you will restore to you all the land of saul your grandfather and you shall eat bread at my table continually See all these things we're going to look at after he has brought out of a place of No pasture known to communication that he was sold into now god begins to david begins to besow These benefits on him and he said then he bound himself and said what is your servant that you should look upon such a dead dog as i And the king called zeba saw servant said him i have given to your master son all that belonged to saul and to all his house You therefore and your sons and your servants shall work the land for him now What kind of reward is that? Here's the guy brings brings me fibisheth to david and david turns out says now you and your sons and all your servants are going to work for mccibisheth And you shall bring in the harvest that your master son may have food to eat But mccibisheth your master son shall eat bread and my table always now zeba had 15 sons and 20 servants Then zeba said to the king according to all of the lord my king has commanded his servant so we serve and do as for mccibisheth said the king He shall eat at my table like one of the king's sons mccibisheth had a young son who his name was mica and who dwelt in the house of zeba who were serve Who dwelt in all who dwelt in the house of zeba were servants of mccibisheth so mccibisheth dwelt in jurislam For he ate continually at the king's table and he was lame in his feet All right, put your belts on All right, this is going to be more of a like bam bam bam bam one two three four five six seven All right, you're ready you're gonna have to go back and study these on your own All right, number one he purposes it remember it is favor It's unusual kindness It's the visible display of the surpassing riches of god's grace that he puts on display through the kindness of jesus christ And so the first thing regarding favor is he purposes it for you seriously it's for you But it's not because of you It's for you, but it's got nothing to do with you You didn't do anything to earn it See he said that I may be so kindness on somebody because they were had good behavior That I may be snow kindness on somebody because they performed really well Or god's wake That's would be a no say no no Are you awake? Yes Is he be stowing kindness because mafibisheth was a good guy No, he wanted to have looked for somebody that he could bestow kindness on because of the covenant that he made See when god made a covenant with abraham He put abraham to the side and put him to sleep and took the animals that abraham had had cut open and then god walked Between the the animals himself And made a covenant with himself that he would keep on behalf of abraham See when david made a covenant with jonathan it had nothing to do with mafibisheth But because he was a covenant keeper mafibisheth could receive the benefits of the covenant that david made It's for you See god purposed it He's think of think of like this. There's some intentionality with what god does He says that I may show is there anybody that I may show like god wants to do this like you don't have to like god favor me He's already purposed it.

He's already planned it And he planned it before you were a twinkle in your dad's eye It has nothing to do with you It has everything to do with the lamb of god revelation 13 8 that was slain before the foundation of the earth Before you were ever even imagined I know god imagined you before your parents imagined you Nothing to do with you next slide if I continued. Oh, we already read that. That's the next slide Oh, how great is your goodness which you have laid up? Think of the god's goodness.

He's laid it up He's set it aside That you have prepared for those That trust in you. Do you remember when I said that that the favor is the visible display Look at the last sentence You've laid up for those of fear you that you prepare for those that trust you in the presence of the sons of men The favor of god in your life will be visible even to the unsafe They'll see something in you they'll see something on your life Just like pot of fur when joseph was in his house It said he saw that the blessing of god was upon him that the favor of god was on him because everything joseph did prospered Like it doesn't make sense, but you got something Number two He not only purposes it for you He promises it Like god intended it before you were ever along, but he promises it He says don't fear see this you got to remember that god loves you right love always seeks what's best First john says this there is no fear In love that perfect love cast out fear So when you come to receive from god you've got to know that god has your best interests at heart that you don't need to Be scared to walk up to god that he's already like Why would you be scared to receive from god when he's already purposed and he turned he passed to give it to you All good news received See he promises it. I will surely I will surely show you kindness Like there's no doubt there. I planned it.

I purposed it and now i'm promising i'm going to give it to you But what happens he goes what am I your servant that you should even look upon a dead dog See your identity Will often hinder you From receiving what god has for you Because when you come to god seeing yourself as a dead dog i'm unworthy to receive You walk away without the thing that he wants to place in your hand It's like what am I i'm a dead dog i'm worthless i'm nothing But david didn't see him that way god does not see you that way See when god looks at you he looks at you through the eyes of jesus that when you're in christ He sees christ he doesn't see you and when he looks at you he sees jesus he sees his beloved where he accepted in the beloved That he accepts you he's pleased with you See what happens a lot of times the bible says that all of the promises of god are in him What yes, which means god already said yes Like i don't have to convince god it's not yes, no, or maybe it's if he promised it It's a yes and to his yes, we add our amen See too often it's like yes, but not me It's yes god, but i'm a dead dog. It's not for me No, it's yes and amen let it be so it's not based on you So even if you see yourself that way the the purpose in his heart the promise that he made has nothing to do with you So don't let your negative identity keep you from saying amen to what god has already said yes to Number three i told you're gonna roll through these He purposed it he promises it and now he puts back everything that you lost I know i'm talking to some people today. I know there's people here that can testify to the restorative power of god If god's ever restored anything in your life, let me give give me a testimony put your hand up Look at this god's are restoring god But see what happens a lot of times when god restores one thing we think well, that's enough I don't I don't want to push my luck with god No, god wants to restore it all Like he does not like don't don't settle for for a subpar restoration Like if you have anything less than all being restored in your life that you've lost Either through bad decisions either through the enemy taking it from you if it's been taken if you've lost it God wants to put it all back See he said i'll restore all of the land he said you know what he had a thousand acres I'm going to give you a hundred No, he said all the land that your grandfather had back to you See in jol 225 when he says i'll restore all the years that the kanker warm eights that word restore go to the next slide That word restore shalom is the root word of the word shalom Anybody know what shalom means peace shalom is peace it means completeness it means wholeness it means soundness It means nothing missing nothing lacking everything complete shalom is the root word of that Which means that you have a covenant of peace You have a covenant that god will restore everything back to what he intended it to where it's complete So if you're incomplete in your restoration god's not done with you yet. There's more he has for you Go back.

Let's go back there. See when jesus when when they brought this man to jesus with the withered hand He said stretch out your hand Which he had one hand that was leopris and one hand that was completely whole and it says when jesus healed him the leopris hand was restored as what as whole as The other see he didn't say well, I'll give you a little gimpy finger I'll just put I'll put a I'll put a knob back one there No, he said i'm putting it back the same as the other hand that when he restores he restores it all See i've seen families here that had lost everything married but separated unsaved Broken addicted in jail lost their kids all those things and i've seen god restore their marriage I've seen god restore their kids. I've seen god restore jobs I've seen god restore freedom in their life everything the enemy stolen all restored Don't settle for a mediocre restoration because god restores everything Number four he provides continually Continually see again sometimes we think well i'll just be satisfied if god meets this need today Great, but god just doesn't want to meet your dean today. He wants to meet your need every single day That he supplies continually you shall eat bread at my table continually think about where he was living He's living in the land of no pasture Like the land that's destitute the land that's barren where there's nowhere to eat the pastures where animals graze at He's living in a place of no sustenance And david says i'm going to bring you out of the place of no sustenance and you're going to eat I'm not just going to have you here for a meal.

It's not like hey i want to have you over friday night No, you're going to eat here every day Continually See what's david saying? Psalm 23 says the lord is my shepherd i shall not want and then in verse five you prepare a table before me In the presence of my enemies See not only does low to bar mean no pasture that david's going to feed him physically But it also means no communication the word dubbar means word in Hebrew no communication no word no no audible voice What is jesus he is the word of god made flesh he said i am the bread of heaven that has come down that you may have life He said your father's eight manna in the desert and they eventually died see when they're eating manna how often did they eat manna Are we awake come on as i'm i the only one that this is speaking to How often did he manna every day every day except the seventh day on the sixth day They got twice as much to carry him through the seventh day but they ate manna every day for 40 years He said i fed you manna in the wilderness due to an army chapter eight verse three I fed you manna that you could know that man does not live by bread alone by by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of god So not only is god going to provide for you physically? Nourishment god's going to speak to you when you've been living in a place where there's no word no communication The spirit of god is going to speak to you on a daily base and feed you He prepares helpers for you He prepares helpers for you Now ziba was the ziba was the servant of soul who's still living he he managed sol's house It said ziba had 20 servants and 15 sons that made 36 of them all together at ziba plus 15 plus 20 36 He says you ziba therefore in your sons all 15 of them and your servants all 20 of them shall work the land from a fibosheth So god or david restores the land Which is probably if you imagine the land that a king had it probably wasn't like a half acre It's probably a pretty substantial piece of ground but my fibosheth is what he's lame And if he's lame he can't kill the ground that he now has but god has given him something But he's unable to work the field that god provided for him And so what does god say he says when you are weak I am strong my strength is perfected in your weakness my god shall supply all of your needs according to what I need No No, thank god he doesn't supply according to what I need He supplies my need according to his riches in glory If my fibosheth was able to work he could only do the work of one man But god supplied him 36 times what he would be able to do on his own See he didn't supply according to my fibosheth's need his need was two legs He supplied 72 legs That's awesome God this is what's amazing god's giving this to me as i'm speaking this is crazy 72 He says you'll Work the land and for him you'll bring in the harvest now. I gotta work it.

You gotta harvest it too Do you know that god provides helpers for you? Not only does he provide the holy spirit obviously the helper of all helpers not only does he provide ministry destiny helpers He puts people in your life that help you get to the place that he's called you to But I want to highlight this because when my fibosheth is lame He's actually not able to see the work that's being done in the fields by the 36 people that god's given him to help It's almost work that's being done in the unseen realm And I want you to realize that god gives you angelic intervention at your disposal to help you carry out the assignment that god has restored to you That sometimes god he restores things to you that are bigger than you can actually handle on your own Like think about that God's giving us things that are bigger than we can work for like I can't do it and because I can't do it he puts angels To work it says angels carry out the voice of the lord it says in Psalms But it says in Hebrews chapter 1 verse 14 it says are not they you got to read verse 13 I didn't put up there they are angels are not they not all Ministering which means serving they serve you they're serving spirits are not they how many angels? Are not they all? Every how many angels are there probably billions like if you don't want yours Oh, I'll take you.

I'll like I'm not gonna leave mine unemployed Like I'll put them to work it says are not they all ministering spirits sent forth to serve or minister To those who what? Anybody inherited salvation yet, right? So if you've received saving grace now one of the things god gives you as enriching grace are angels that work the land on your behalf When Jacob had a dream You met Genesis 28 it says that he laid his head on a rock He had a dream and when he dreamed he saw a ladder that stretched from earth to heaven And god was speaking to him from above that where the ladder went to heaven and said he saw angels Descending and us sending on the ladder and he called that place. This is none other than the house of God the gate of heaven Not gonna teach on that today But in John chapter 1 51 when Jesus is teaching they're talking to in the annual he said if he says behold in his Relight and there's no guy oh and the Daniel says you're the Christ and he goes because you recognize that you're gonna see greater things in these You're gonna see angels ascending and descending now on the son of man speak himself So in the Old Testament Jacob sees angels ascending and descending on what he called the house of God now Jesus comes Who's the house of God on earth angels are sending and descending on him and when Jesus left guess we became the house of God now?

We are and because we're the house of God we have us angels us ending and descending Descending when God sends them on assignment us ending once the assignment's been completed you don't see them But they're working on your behalf helpers To do the thing that you can't do on your own Don't forget about angels next He positions you as royalty. These could all be one message in themselves, you know, I just want to blow through these he positions you as royalty See he didn't say hey come to my table and sit over here at the little kids table Anybody used to go to Thanksgiving dinner to grandma's house when you're little The did your was your grandma like my grandma and my grandma had this little itty-bitty table off to the side that I had to sit at Maybe with one or two cousins while everybody else was at the dining room table eating dinner And I'm in the kids chair No, he didn't say I want you to come over and sit at the kids table at the guest table or you know Or we had a house I grew up and we had a dining room But then we had the kitchen counter he didn't say you're gonna sit at the counter while we're in the dining room He said you're gonna sit at the table like one of the king's sons See he treats you and positions you as royalty you were a dead dog, but he made you alive And he raised you and seated you at his right hand and now you sit at the table as a king son See the king's son has access To whatever they want they just put their hand up or whatever their symbol was back then maybe Hit tap their glass. I don't know but the king's children were taken care of at the table See the Bible tells me this in Romans chapter 8 It says that the spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are we are the children of God And if he is king, what does that make us we're children of the king where kings get and if children then heirs heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ so position one at the table is Jesus But because he was the first born from the dead We were born with him made alive with him seated at the table with him that were the equal standing with God as Jesus has That we have access to everything that Jesus has at that table that were joint heirs Jesus said this in John 16 he says all that the Father has is mine Think about that everything the Father has belongs to Jesus And he said the Holy Spirit will take from what is mine and declare it to you That the Holy Spirit releases through spoken word into your life the things that God has which are all things and when we pray We're not praying to beg God to give it to us Remember because he's already purposed but we're coming into agreement with what he's already said and we're putting an amen to his already Established yes and number seven. This is the last one.

May I can't believe it did this? We're landing on time. I just took a 15 hour flight and we landed in 45. That's good 15 hours long flight Real on flight So Mafibisheft dwelt in Jerusalem Mafibisheft dwelt in Jerusalem.

He lived in Lodebar. He was brought out of Lodebar But now he dwelt in Jerusalem If you're gonna eat at my table continually in Ridgely, West Virginia You can't live in Miami Beach, Florida in order for you to eat at my table continually. You have to dwell where I am You can't dwell elsewhere and still eat at my table And so I want you to see the purpose in all of the favor of God is to draw you to a place of intimacy with him That his heart for you his desire for you. Yes, it's the favor.

Yes, it's the to demonstrate the surpassing riches of his grace Through the kindness of Jesus Christ, but with the ultimate intention that you dwell where he is Sima Fibisheft he couldn't go back and forth. He had to remain at Jerusalem, which means teaching of peace Teaching of completeness holding his soundness. Nothing missing. Nothing lacking.

He stayed there It says the a continually the king's table. He was lame in both feet Just a side point there If you can just visualize for a minute. He's sitting at the table with all of the king's son. You close your eyes You want to just think about this?

Sitting at the table as one of the king's sons and even though he carried the scars from his past At the table. They weren't visible You think about him sitting at the table when he's sitting at the table the thing that he carried from his past although the scar was still there It wasn't visible to anybody else That God can take the thing in your life that maybe you've kept hidden that maybe you've suppressed that you've you've buried the hurt the pain the trauma And he invites you to the table to the place where that's no longer an issue in your life Doesn't mean you may not have a scar doesn't mean you may not have something that would show it But he he eliminates and renders it useless it renders it ineffective in your life The word abide means to dwell See the father's heart is intimacy that he wants to favor you He wants to do it from a place of intimacy a place of abiding a place of nearness He says abide in me and I and you as the branches cannot bear fruit of themselves unless it abides in the vine Neither can you unless you abide in me. I'm the vine you're the branches He who abides in me and I and him bears much fruit for without me You can do nothing. I want to encourage you today.

God has unusual kindness for you He has unusual access for you his unusual acceptance for you his unusual permission For you that he wants to release to you the root his son Jesus Christ
