I got a lot to get through We're in our series through and I'm just really excited a lot of this stuff. You're going to You're gonna you've probably heard I want to tell you the goal today is that we leave here with a better understanding of what victory truly is Because there is no reason as believers that we're not living in victory You know, this is probably one of those messages that people are gonna You know these pastors and this gospel man, you know, they want to talk about they don't talk about saying they don't want to talk about some of these I don't know who I'm trying to impersonate but Yeah, they they just they want to throw out all these things that we're not speaking about But you know, I take everything to God and he says that the gospel is goodness. I came so you can have life I came to to to give you the victory.
I came to do all these things and why are we overlooking them because Ultimately, this is good news. I have victory Actually, do me a favor real quick if if you've had victory in your life at some point we stand up for me Go ahead. Just take a second look around. I want to let you know This is what victory looks like and I want to tell you something else.
You're still standing come on All right, you can sit back down. I just wanted to start with a visual and get an understanding that everybody in here is acknowledged that we've had victory in our lives and I hope we're gonna walk this thing out at a greater and higher level of victory because just like the other day when I said I feel like Member Grayson truth came through Jesus and I said, what if grace is bigger than we think well I'm studying he said I think victory is bigger than you think I said well, let's go Teach me all of it. So that's what we're gonna go today But I'm gonna start off with something here in 1 Corinthians 1557 is our main passage We're gonna be reading from and it is 57 But thanks be to God who gives us the victory as conquerors everyone say through our Lord Jesus Christ So how did victory enter? All right next slide Shoo I knew I'd have to give you guys a minute.

Come on now That's who I'm gonna start with today The Philadelphia Eagles They battle through the season fought through the playoffs and stood victorious when the final whistle flew and guess what? No one can take that from them. I'm ready to start preaching now y'all but There's a couple questions. I want to ask you because I'm gonna get through my intro and then we're gonna talk about all this But what if they lose every single game next year?
That's good. You guys picked up on a quick if they lose every single game They're still super bold chance. He say they will That's a bold statement to say right now with that being a world champions But I want you to really think about this and let this sink in even if they do You you will never be able from years down the road down history You'll look back and there'll still be a Super Bowl winner in this year Can't take it from them. It'll be in there.
Do people stop calling them champions? They will for you able forever be Super Bowl champions nothing can you race that moment? I want you to think about somebody else real quick. I'm a sports guy If you didn't know if you're new here, I'm pastor Seth.
I don't do the jokes anymore with faster Fred But I want you to think about when you hear the word Michael Jordan or the name Michael Jordan. What do you think about? Crazy thing is he hasn't played in years years But he's still one of the greatest of all time Why? Because his victories didn't stop when he stopped playing Amen Here's the reality many of us live as if our victory in Jesus can be taken away When we struggle falling the sin and suddenly feel like we've lost it We go through hardships and we wonder if we're still winning But just like the Eagles will always be champions and Jordan will always be great victory through Jesus is bigger than just a moment It's eternal.
I want to tell you today Someone needs to hear this and if you get only this please write this down if you've won once with the victory through Jesus You've won for all time. I don't know which side to go to because there was both weeks listen if if you if you won one time You've won forever mindset is if you won one time you won forever Could you imagine if we adopted that mindset that through Christ we have victory through what he's done? We have victory if we could adopt that mindset that we've won the next challenge We get through because y'all just all sit here instead of confidence if they lose every game next year They're still winners. So why when you come over a hurdle then you get to the next one and it stops you and you now Don't think like a winner or you don't think you're still victorious You're not still a champion because of what Christ did.
Why do we turn from that? Or why don't we get stuck in stable? We're at when it says that we have victory I'm still a champion See that entire losing season is not going to define them. They're still Super Bowl champs They still got that ring to show it.
I'm hoping to help us today church I don't know why we have a mindset that our losses erase our wins Your struggles don't cancel your status your fail your failure today doesn't undo your victory in Christ Paul says it clearly in 1 Corinthians 1557 Thanks be to God He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ And we're gonna get to some of this later now. I'm gonna talk through some things victory is bigger than we think So I'm gonna stay right here and I'm gonna talk through the chapter a little bit because this is a told past the friends This is not gonna be your traditional sermon that you're probably used to hear and come in here and get this I want to overload you with victory today like there's so much victory didn't have time for anything else I just am going to overload you on victory that you leave with a mindset that I'm a victor I'm not a victim no more. I'm a victor See the entire chapter is focused on one central theme the resurrection of Jesus and what it means for us Do you think about that? See the people in the Corinthian church were questioning whether the resurrection resurrection was even real now that was good, huh?
That's too many. Yeah, that's that's a weather resurrection was real So so Paul spends the chapter listen if you're new here. Yeah, we like to have fun I'm just sorry, but we like to have a good time Paul spends the chapter proving that Christ resurrection is not just a doctrine It's a very foundation of our faith He argues that if Christ didn't rise then our preaching is useless our faith is meaningless and we are still in our sins That's important through 17. What am I saying there without resurrection?
There's no victory you all get that See up into this point death had a winning record, but guess who broke that? Come on he explains that through Adam sin and death entered the world, but through Jesus the last Adam Life and victory are restored and this builds up to one of the most powerful moments in scripture He says this is 1555 where Odeth is your victory where Odeth is your sting? You all know what Paul's doing here. He's mocking death.
He's saying death. You thought you had the final say But Jesus crushed you I can tell just from that y'all aren't excited guys listen Death the thing everybody fears the most one of the things that everyone fears the most Guess what he said? He said president why he said it and this leads us exactly up to the point we started with This is a declaration of victory The goal is going to be leaving here that we have a new declaration of victory I told pastor Fred that I was sitting there and kind of studying through the weekend I had a whole nother sermon prepared on love. Sorry if you need tissues in but up All nother sermon prepared love cuz I love love it's probably my favorite thing to talk about because his love changed my life But I'm sitting there and I just got this as said you've been under a waterfall and not like what people say like a pleasant one But it's like beating down on your head.
You're just like ah come on Let's just start to like hit me and I got this strong sense that the church needs a victory chant We need to be walking around with victory like coming out of us like excitement of victory Chant in it talking about it not our problems I'm not the reason I'm not going too much into that is because he did a great job last week to talk about how we're like Oh, you know like we're so down But we have victory through Christ and you're gonna see here in a bit that if your victory is just overcoming the battle You don't understand victory says thanks thanks me to God. He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ Paul does not say one day will have it he's saying we already have it through Jesus the resurrection isn't just a historical fact It's our personal victory. I think the problem is as we identify with oh, yeah the death bear of resurrection as if it happened We acknowledge that but we don't apply to that it was personally done for us that I personally Like connect to this not because it's something that just happened but because it benefits me I'm now a victor because of it. All right, we get like three people are clapping shoe.
It's gonna be harder than I thought I thought today was gonna be a steamroller First first point when I get to victory is a gift from God, but thanks be to God He gives us the victory. I just want to say first and foremost first thing we must understand victory is not something We aren't to give into us and I don't know if you've ever saw that before reading this but thanks me to God He gives us the victory We live in a world that tells us we have to fight for everything But when it comes to salvation and eternal victory the battle has already been fought for us We didn't defeat sin who did we didn't conquer the grave who did we didn't overcome the enemy who did This means our job is not to strive for victory, but to stand in victory We are not fighting for victory. We are fighting from victory. God has already given it to us the wind through Jesus Church was that pretty easy to understand?
What do we what do we struggle with? Like what do we struggle with? Like he's given it to us Like I want this to really sink in Victory comes through Jesus Christ through our Lord Jesus Paul makes it clear that victory does not come through our strength or worse or our abilities it comes through Jesus Sit now this deep stuff isn't it? So I want to talk about the victory we have We have victory over sin.
Roman 6 14 says this for sin will no longer be a master over you Since you are not under law as slaves but under unmerited grace as recipients of God's favor and mercy Before Jesus sin was our master no matter how hard we tried we couldn't break free But through Jesus say through Jesus we are no longer slaves to sin So I'm gonna ask why we still talk about sin? Listen, I love that. It's always there And we always have victory over it Come on, somebody. I'm serious.
Let's talk about it. It's always there But guess what it can't ever stop me Just like the chiefs couldn't stop. Stay cornbarkly. I'm joking joking.
It was more the defense of the ego But come on guys seriously. This is what I want to help change is the mindset. We need to think better Renew our minds daily. We got to start thinking and understanding allow truth to reveal itself to us that we live different Right?
Well, sin ain't going nowhere. Okay. I don't need her as victory. So what what's the conversation?
He defeated sin Which means I have victory he defeated death so I have victory. What do we what do we need to talk about? Victory not any anything else Why because we have victory come on guys We're no longer slaves Does that not excite anybody? Even as believers we struggle we fall short but sin no longer defies us grace does I just I do want to ask that did y'all get any better understanding of grace these past couple weeks Because I feel like it was powerful.
I'm not just talking from me past like it was great stuff He's like you threw me the alley-oop. I was like and you slammed on good bro. That brought me that was awesome I've heard this before I'm gonna share it. I don't know who said it, but I love it Imagine someone serving a life sentence in prison.
You might even share this bro They've been behind bars for decades that one day a judge steps in and says you are free to go The prisoner walks out but instead of going home. He sits outside the prison gate refusing to believe he's free Many christians live like that. You are free You don't have to sit and go you don't have to sit and shame Or condemnation anymore. Jesus already won the battle.
It's over I gotta keep moving victory over death second timothy 110 we're gonna talk about a lot So keep up. Hopefully you got a little pad to write down Second Timothy 110 this is the message translation But we know it now since the appearance of our savior Dang not one person said anything when I read that I was like Since the appearance of our savior Nothing could be plainer that defeated Like vindicated and a steady blaze of light all through the work of Jesus Shoo Death is no longer the end of those in christ All its whole point in first Corinthians 15 is that death doesn't get the last word anymore So I don't know How would that change how we live if we understood that death no longer has the final word in our lives I think we would start walking upright. We would start being like Cold Victorious we start seeing things the right way Right. We would we would know who we were and we would walk the way he called us to walk We have victory over the enemy Colossians 215 new living translation In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities.
He shamed them publicly By his victory over them on the cross Satan has already lost The only thing he could try to do is deceive you But he has no power over you Imagine watching a recorded football game where you already know your team won If your team is losing in the third quarter, you don't panic Because you know how it ends Why are we not living our lives like this church No matter how tough life gets we already know the final score Jesus wins We win See in the ancient world when it came to feed his enemy he would publicly display the conquered forces as a demonstration of victory So basically would parade around right This suggests that Jesus through the cross humiliated the powers of darkness showing their defeat like you get that Man like the the biggest defeat also ended in the biggest victory ever and he like I'm just a mad like you know what I mean? Like I just look at like he stood there Like standing there strong. You ever won a game. You ever won something right?
And you're just like yeah, right? That's like how I feel when I went argument with my wife. I'm like yeah Right It don't happen often. That's why I get excited But for real guys, I think about these things we have victory Why are we not living like it?
Victory is bigger than we think Go to the next one Your limited view of victory is keeping you at a worldly level Your limited view of victory is keeping you at a worldly level Where are we positioned at? In Christ In heaven Why are we living at a worldly level? See a lot of this stuff guys we talked so much about I really want us to get it Like we have full access Like full access But see our limited view of victory is keeping us living at a worldly level See victory is not just what you've been through it's who you are I'm going to talk to some people for a minute because it's real and it's it's who Is in here a lot of these things This first one's for me included If you've overcome addiction You don't have to keep proving you're free You're free Well, I don't understand you all listen If you've overcome addiction Anybody in here done that? No, I need you to stand up real quick I need you to understand up real quick That's victory That's victory Y'all don't know when we're going to get on the same page and get excited about what's really happening around us Just take a look around If you need a reminder of what victory looks like just look at the person beside you Hey, what have you been through?
I'll have overcome addiction What about you depression? What about you? I had cancer What like just look around What are we going to open our eyes to the fact that victory is all around us? When are you going to start living in it?
If you've overcome it And guess what? If you have victory once You have it again You don't got to struggle with it no more But a mindset of victory is going to help you continue to push forward through it Anybody in here been healed of something This is going to be a workout today Stand up, I might not get no further than this Look around right now And I want to tell you if you're sitting here and guess what? You're still waiting for your healing This is proof that it happens And we're just going to release healing in that person that's looking for it right now This is victory Look at everybody You've got encouragement and results right in front of you Now come on church Why does it take so much for us to get excited about who God is and what he's already done To know that that's who he is We shout he's a wait maker Well guess what? Look at all the ways he made And you're waiting for your way Well guess what?
He's going to make one Ask the person beside you Jesus defeated death Death has no claim on you See a championship is one in a moment but lasts forever Your victory in Jesus was one in a moment that lasts for eternity See listen You had a healing before right? What if it comes back? Yeah, what's your mindset? I guess it didn't work the first time Well, what do you mean?
It went away didn't it? Sure what? You had a victory Right So the next time I face it it comes back Guess what? I have victory over you I'm going to have another one And I'm going to have another one See the problem is is when it happens And we get one right or something comes through We get a breakthrough we get all this We get excited we get pumped up And then boom we get stopped in our tracks And for some reason We are not attached to that We are victorious that we have a victory through Jesus Then we end up becoming a victim And then staying where we're at Because we forget what he's already done And now that defines us And we can't move forward in who we are and what he's done Because we have not understood and we've limited victory in our lives For it to be a moment But if we understand that what he did is for eternity Then I have constant victory Would have over anything that comes my way So I'm just I'm side stepping in victory That's walking in victory Not when a problem comes You're like oh no What what am I going to do now?
What you're going to do is say I have victory in Christ And if you understood what that victory does You won't you won't back down from fear Listen it doesn't matter what it is I think the problem is Is when we get healed from even the sickness Or something small It's irrelevant See my wife was healed I was preaching on a Thursday And my wife had this nasty cut from cut Watching her dishes She was gone cut it wide open Boom Big Big I'm just speaking I'm just speaking on Thursday I'm like everyone needs healing Like just a general Because I know I don't have to be much Two years We get done that thing is healed Showed pastor here I mean and when I say it was deep it was deep And he's going to know that it was Yeah It was completely healed It looked healed over Well that part of her hand Yeah don't clap yet Because I want you to get the full story Part of that she's going through her week It busted open again because of where it's at Does that mean she wasn't healed? You're saying that now But do you live like that? Because the thought is oh well Maybe she wasn't healed And you know just ever But what kind of mindset is that? What does that stop you from doing?
See how do we even allow that confusion to come in I saw it with my own eyes She showed me I'm like hmm it's pretty cool Weird but it's cool Like I'm not acting like I saw it and it didn't happen It was real Like I saw it I've watched things happen over Zoom calls I'm sure I'm telling you it's because I want to encourage you Like crazy to happen People hearing for the first time Sticking the finger in the ear and pulling it out You can think it's weird all you want They got healed Why do we question these things? Pastor was just sharing With me he's been dealing with nosebleeds Like off and on On start he got healed bubbly pray for him He got healed going a couple days Starts again all this stuff starts again He said Lord just spoke to him Don't I don't want to butcher it because I'm trying to remember But basically Yeah When it was my wife's story just shared reminded him So he was going to do whatever he needed to do And the Lord spoke to him Just pretty much said trust me Is that right? Am I getting that right? You've accepted the loss of your healings What he said And then Something super cool happened You were going to Again right before you're getting ready to preach Or yesterday morning when you're getting ready to preach I want to believe To people in Pakistan And I'm not going to spend too much time in butchers But basically he's having to trust God He was going in the bathroom to start He trusted him, turned the light off, walked out And it stopped completely He might tell a different story but that's how I heard it But then you know it was super cool And I don't want to spend too much time here He went on to preach and about to see miraculous healings Church I need you to do better If we're going to talk about a God That took tumors off of man's arm Healing Like he's calling us to do This man is here in his home preaching The Word Praying for healing And in Pakistan people are getting healed Don't you dare Tell me we don't serve a good God A healing God that we don't have victory In the name of Jesus When are we going to wake up to these things church To start having victory and living it out in our life Like come on I got so sidetracked but that was so exciting Come on Your limited view of victory keeps you at a worldly level See the world sees victory as just a single battle It's overcoming something one time But we have victory through Christ It's completely sealed Like anything you're even worrying about now I just I want to encourage you your stand in here and victory Like you're victorious We got to start living with a mindset like that You don't lose your victory Because you struggle Like we said the egos doesn't they don't lose the Super Bowl if they lose next season Even after the first loss Like Jordan he don't stop being great Your victory and Christ don't disappear The problem is we think victory is fragile We think every struggle resets the scoreboard We think we have to win again to prove we're victorious But Jesus already won the game We got to start living from the victory that he has won Not trying to win our own Here's a couple reasons why I believe believers Don't live in victory We forget that victory has already been won We defined victory by our feelings And we don't walk in our authority We forget that victory has already won And already been won The enemy's biggest strategy is convincing you the battle isn't over Could you imagine that the game's over it hits zero on the scoreboard right?
That he The fettie falls The words are giving out and everything And then the egos try to go back onto the field for another quarter So what would that look like? Yeah, well I think that's what the enemy's doing to us When he convinces us That the battle that Christ has already finished And defeated and we have victory over When he convinced us to keep trying to play the game As if the battle didn't finish That we keep putting ourselves back in in position for him To just sit in and laugh at us For us to continue to sit here and just keep trying to achieve something that we're never going to reach Like like come on church We look at these things now and we say these things But my question for us really is is Will we live in them? Will we see them to the point that it changes our mindset And what victory really looks like But we stop limiting ourselves Will we stop limiting what Christ has done To live in a fullness he's called us to He gave you the victory I'm just going to tell you this If Christ gives you something If like yeah, I don't care what you think we just went and watched Captain America listen Captain America can't take it A big red Hulk that came out and I'm trying to ask my wife like what's happening She's like just watch the movie But like nothing can take it from you Like you have eternal victory It never runs out It's not something you keep exchanging while I lose Oh here's my victory I'm going to come and forth though Like no like you keep it And every time something comes you get to lay it down say nope I got victory The enemy isn't fighting for victory He's fighting to make you forget you already have We have to find victory by our feelings Sometimes we don't feel victorious I want to help somebody today Victory is not a feeling It's a fact You may be a very emotional person And I am not beating you down if you are that's fine I'm an emotional person So I'm going to speak from this platform An emotional man But guess what? My emotions will never change what Christ did Never And nobody else sitting here can His victory is finished It's sealed It's what you get to live from You can't change what Jesus has already done And we don't walk in our authority Listen If a football team doesn't execute the plays They won't win Even if they're a better team Jesus gave us victory but we have to walk in I mean stepping out of faith Praying with authority and refusing to believe the lies of the enemy This is getting ready to get into something that Was really powerful for me We don't see it as a legal verdict Here's the hidden mystery of victory The Greek word for victory in 1 Corinthians 1557 is Nicas I've said that wrong, sorry Which means triumph, conquest, or overcoming See it also has a root meaning connected to judgment in legal disputes This means victory just isn't about winning a battle It's about a verdict being declared in your favor See victory in Christ isn't a legal is a legal verdict not just a fight When Jesus died and rose again He doesn't just win a fight against Satan He declared a final legal judgment against sin and death And that's the music that was playing Guys did you hear what I said?
Need you to understand something Like Jesus' resurrection I think Pastor Fred said this at one point Jesus' resurrection was God's final gavel slam Against sin, death, and the enemy See we got a quick fight against something that's already rolled in our favor We're wasting time, church It's not about fighting battles It's about walking and the legal judgment that the battle has already been won I need I want someone to hear this this morning, please Victory I want you to start looking at this word as something different Like victory Is not just winning a battle If it becomes to be a part of us in our mindset that it's the final say I would ask people in here to raise their hand if they ever been in in court But I don't want to put you on by yeah, look everyone's not afraid. They're like, yep Guess what whatever that final verdict was it was it right? I don't care what you said. I don't care.
You could kick and scream you could do whatever you want It is what it is Why can't we translate that thought process that stuff we like to talk about? Yeah, it is yeah Yeah, Christ did this and boom it's finished. It's final. That's the verdict victory isn't just I want this one No, it's even when I lose I win Because it's a final judgment when he went and did that guys listen It's done You get to walk out of Victor If you're stepping out as a victim You are limiting what victory is You don't understand it fully See, it's not just when things go your way When you get to hear what you want to hear It's standing knowing that no matter what I'm victorious because of Christ His judgment of victory Is what I want to live by I don't know about you But I'm done with this worldly view of all I do this writer You know if things go right then yeah, I'm victorious I'm gonna live knowing that no matter what Comes my way happens.
I do I don't do any of these things that he already slammed the judgment the little slammer thing And he said the guy well there you go and he said you're victorious And I want to let you know something you can't never be tried again Victory through Jesus means I get it going Victory through Jesus means winning even when you're losing. I just talked about that. Um Yeah, I got I'm gonna skip on that one I want to encourage somebody today victories about surrender not strength This is a radical shift in our thinking Victory comes through outpouring through overpowering your enemy in the kingdom in the that's in the world in the kingdom victory comes by surrendering to Jesus Do you hear what I said? Victory isn't about trying harder.
It's about trusting deeper victory isn't about controlling outcomes It's about surrendering to God's plan victory isn't about proving your strength. It's about leaning into his strength The word says when I'm weak he's strong. He's our source The greatest victories come not by fighting harder but by surrendering fully Here's a bibble exam a biblical example of this victory in christ as a legal declaration Paul says in Colossians 2 13 and 15 when you are dead in your sins God made you alive with christ He forgave us all our sins having canceled the charge of our legal and deadness Which stood against us and condemned us he has taken it away nailed it to the cross and having disarmed the powers of the authorities He made a public spectacle of them triumpine nicos over them by the cross Charge of legal indebtedness condemned Taken away. This means the cross was more than just a battlefield victory.
It was a heavenly courtroom rule That cleared us forever Victory in Jesus isn't just about overpowering the enemy It's about standing in the final legal verdict that sin has been canceled and we are free Are you guys is this just making sense today? I hope you guys are taking something from this because I think it's super important How do we walk in victory? Well, we live like you've already won You keep your eyes on the finish line give thanks and keep moving forward Speak and walk in victory even before you see it Read to find what victory looks like in your life Live like you've already won Is anybody in here living like they want If the eagles walked off the field after winning the Super Bowl acting defeated people would think they're crazy Church Please this is one of those moments. You always like a five hour wait I'm so mad I'm talking to myself right now But come on guys for real Are we living in victory? Are we living in true victory that came through Christ? Or if when we don't get our way are we moping around? I'd propose that the our city is not changing because the believers aren't living like they have victory So if people don't know Who are you?
I got a city reach. Well, why do you look like you're losing? What's wrong with you?
