有一天，一个农夫的孩子被独自留在家里。中午，孩子有点饿了，他想起自己曾经吃过邻居家烧烤的田螺，可好吃了。他跑到水稻田里，捉了好多田螺，然后回去烧烤。不一会儿，他就听见田螺发出“吱吱”的声响，好像在唱歌一样。农夫的孩子便说：“啊，你们这些可怜的东西！家都被烧了，自己很快就要成为别人的午餐了，还有心思唱歌？”
