Tiger Talk Episode 47 10/09/18

from Tiger Talk Podcast by Northeast Mississippi Community College · host Will Kollmeyer, Northeast Mississippi Community College

In this forty-seventh (47th) episode of the TigerTalk Podcast by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes NEMCC executive vice president Craig-Ellis Sasser to the podcast as he gives listeners an update on a variety of happenings surrounding the college. From the 2018 Homecoming last week, to his recent trip to the Community College Business Officers' convention (where Northeast picked up an award from the organization for its use of technology and open educational resources in the classroom) to FAFSA registration that opened October 1 to the HEADS (Higher Education Achieves Demonstratable Skills), Sasser covers the gauntlet of different happenings on campus in the past week. A couple of quick hitters break up this week's guests and in the second half of the podcast, Kollmeyer welcomes back Morgan Ricks Kramer to talk about all the events that the Cultural Arts Committee has planned for the month of October along with what the Iota Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society has been up to this fall as well. Kramer, who also serves as a co-director of the college's Honors Institute, also reminds students that the application for the Spring 2019 class has already begun to accept applications for inclusion into the Honors Institute here at Northeast. Kollmeyer wraps up the podcast with a new addition to the publication -- an extended version of what is coming up on campus that details events happening on and around the Northeast campus in a daily breakdown. It contains one of the most comprehensive lists of events and happenings on campus -- so if you have an event or happening on campus and want it mentioned on the podcast, please reach out.
