from Tiger Talk Podcast by Northeast Mississippi Community College · host Northeast Mississippi Community College, Michael H. Miller, Will Kollmeyer

In episode 119 of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast president, Dr. Ricky G. Ford, to the podcast as Kollmeyer and Ford sit down to discuss what is happening at the college. In this week's update, Dr. Ford updates listeners about the college Guide to a Safe Return to Campus which addresses among other things the use of face coverings while on the Northeast campus. In addition to face coverings, Ford talks about the health and safety of not only Northeast employees but students and community members as well during the pandemic. Ford addresses changes to academic and college life such as how the cafeteria is changing to follow CDC guidelines and how classrooms have been modified to accompany a smaller class side. Inside the multi-page document, Ford reiterates his belief that social distancing, wearing a mask and good personal hygiene such as washing hands and not touching the face are the keys to preventing the spread of COVID-19. Ford and Kollmeyer also discuss the options for classes that Northeast will offer students such as traditional face-to-face classes on Monday, August 3, hybrid classes with a mix of traditional face-to-face and online classes or fully online classes, which will begin later on Monday, August 24 and will run into December. Traditional face-to-face classes at Northeast are set to finish before Thanksgiving.
