Northeast Mississippi Community College president Dr. Ricky G. Ford sits with Marketing and Public Relations Specialist Liz Roark to talk about all the college's efforts to help bolster Northeast's enrollment, including the ever-popular and successful Northeast NOW recruitment event that brings not only high school seniors from the college's five-county service area but any other school, who requests to come, to the college for a fun-filled day of exploration and information to help those seniors make their choice on which school is right for them. In the middle portion of the interview, Roark and Ford discuss the upcoming Northeast Mississippi Regional Marching Band Championship scheduled for Saturday, October 1, at Tiger Stadium in Booneville. Not only does this serve as a significant recruitment event for Northeast, but it also allows many students to see the college while they compete for Ratings, Capture and the six-foot-tall Grand Champions trophy. Last year's event brought an estimated 18,000 people to the City of Hospitality. With over 30 bands and an extended performance schedule, Northeast is looking to bolster the Booneville tax coffers again this year.
