In 1935 kwam de SDAP met een Plan van de Arbeid om een oplossing te bieden voor de massale werkloosheidcrisis. Dat de marktwerking alle problemen zou oplossen geloofden de sociaal-democraten niet meer. De kwesties gingen iedereen aan en de oplossing moest politieke ideologieën overstijgen. Journalist Michiel Zonneveld ziet in het huidige tijdsgewricht een parallel met toen. Ons systeem is ook stuk en uit evenwicht. Kunnen we tegenwoordig nog wel een plan maken met zo'n lang vooruitzicht? Werkt traditioneel-rechts niet meer? En kan een integrale aanpak die samenhang creëren?
