Bijna vijf jaar geleden maakte toenmalig minister Stef Blok de huurcontracten ‘flexibel’. Dat zou een uitzondering blijven, beloofde hij, maar daarvan is niets terecht gekomen. Flexibel is de norm geworden. Journalisten Michelle Salomons en Felix Voogt ontdekten dat bijna de helft van de huurcontracten tijdelijk wordt aangeboden. Vermeende positieve gevolgen blijven uit: huren stijgen alleen maar harder en is meer ruimte voor onwettige en slechtere contracten. Doorstroming vanuit de sociale huur verkeert inmiddels op een historisch dieptepunt.
