Tilling The Greenhouse Dirt: Bizvox Visits A Local Farm To Learn About Winter Growing | Electric Secrets

Let's Go On A Tasty Adventure To Edible Landscapes In this delightful episode of BizVox, a segment of the Electric Secrets variety podcast, host Scott Leon Smith takes us on a mobile adventure to Edible Landscapes farm.  Meet Sam and Jacob, the dynamic duo who stumbled into owning this established gem in September 2023. From humble beginnings to seizing the chance to buy the farm from retiring owner Bruce, their journey is a masterclass in juggling family, a full-time job, and a thriving small business. Despite winter's chill, their greenhouses burst with salad mixes, leafy greens, and microgreens, all nurtured with love, dirt, and a dash of ingenuity — no conveyor belts here! Scott braves crackling mics and gusty winds to reveal their secrets: triple-rinsed lettuce spun in a giant salad spinner, a Goodwill program that allows the owners to mentor teens, and plans for strawberry patches and sustainable no-till fields. Complete with apple trees, blackberry bushes, and dreams of paint-and-wine events, this small plot packs a punch. Sam and Jacob's tale is a fresh, funny, and inspiring harvest of entrepreneurial spirit — proof that big things can grow quickly with the right amount of passion and hard work.
