Time to Cowgirl Up: KC Johns, Country Music Artist

Time to Cowgirl Up – My Guest, Ms. KC Johns is a budding country music artist. “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” ~ Dolly Parton This week’s guest was born to perform and compete.  Ms. KC Johns grew up as the baby of the family and from the earliest of ages she knew she loved to perform for an audience. KC’s mother was a rodeo star with her award winning barrel racing and when KC was very young she decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps.  KC would race on weekends and sing anytime any time she had an opportunity.  KC admits that she was not quite as good of a barrel racer as her mother but the one thing she kept emphasizing was how supportive her mother continued to be regardless of her endeavors. When KC received her first guitar as a gift, her path suddenly became more clear.  Without a second thought KC’s mother sold personal items to help fund KC’s pursuit of becoming a country music artist.  Regular trips to Nashville to allow KC to perform in local venues and bars at the age of 17 set KC up for opportunities. When she received an offer to perform on a cruise ship she jumped at the chance.  What was supposed to be a temporary gig turned into a 6 year adventure.  KC explains how those years were pivotal to developing her unique style of music and songwriting.
