Saints Abdon and Sennen surrendered rank, safety and life rather than deny Christ, proving that true freedom belongs to those who possess nothing apart from God. Their reverence for the bodies of the martyrs, their courage before Decius, and their fidelity unto death teach us that great confession is prepared through daily acts of obedience.
