Today’s homily: St Pius X (2026)

Pope St Pius X was raised from humble origins to the Chair of Peter and made the restoration of all things in Christ the programme of his pontificate. A parish priest at heart even as Pope, he defended the Catholic Faith against Modernism, renewed priestly formation and ecclesiastical discipline, restored sacred music, promoted frequent Holy Communion and the early Communion of children, and insisted that authentic reform means bringing souls, worship and the Church herself into deeper conformity with Christ.
