Hello and welcome to today's inspiration. I am prophetess Tammy Williams with Eagle Wing Spake Ministry and today I am so blessed to have a dear friend co-partner crime you might say, Pastor Leanne Badgett with signs and wonders ministry out of Knoxville. And today we're highlighting her. Her and her husband Pastor Jamal Badgett have been a very, as my husband and I transitioned into this TV program, they have been with us to stand beside us, to gird us up and a lot of people don't know who they are and we just felt in our spirit that we wanted to highlight them today and show you where they come from and what's going on in Knoxville and what they're doing in Knoxville.
Apostle Chris and myself truly believe that ministries need to work together and not in a competition and because God gave all the gifts for the five-fold ministry to all operators one and the body of Christ we are family we are brothers and sisters in Christ and we are trying to promote that to change the ideology or the mind thinking of my church has got to be bigger than your church and this and that and my husband and I as you've all I've heard if you've watched in past episodes we've pastored many at many places and right now we're all about serving and equipping others and so as you watch us and get to know us first of all we want to thank you for allowing us to come in your living room we want to welcome you we pray that every episode brings some sort of enlightenment encouragement inspiration uplifting maybe correction we do a lot of teaching as we progress through the year I believe that we can be better as a body of Christ and we hope that we can help you because when we know better we do better amen so I want to put it all on her right now I'm gonna ask an interview her you're gonna feel like you're in a newscast this is gonna be real and raw and truth and transparent we are very much about total honesty and we are two gals that are we're like a bull in the you know we're about souls we're about being truth and not sugarcoating the word and that's what I love about Pastor Leanne is she don't sugarcoat and you're gonna hear a story today that will probably blow your mind but show you how real and how raw a person can be and being delivered in Christ Jesus and what he does so we're just gonna get right on in there and I want you to hear her so tell me about yourself well my name is Leanne Badgett and I passed her alongside my husband Jamal Badgett in the heart of East Knoxville which is on Magnolia Avenue and we are in a dark area of town I mean a lot of people would just be the first ones to tell you don't go down Magnolia don't go on the east side but I feel like that that is where the Lord has planted us for very many many reasons but I do believe that we are right where God has wanted us to be for now for now because I believe he's getting ready to explode y'all I really do believe that so tell us from the beginning how did you come to the Lord? Well I wasn't raised in church that's not my testimony my parents started going to church my mom and my stepdad started going to church later in my life my teenage life right already I tell people I took the hard left had a great upbringing now I went in church but I started bringing with morals and values and work ethic and you know do right you know go right from wrong and do right but still around 15 you know when you start smelling yourself so to speak I took a hard left and of course new more than my parents and I wanted to go experience you know what I thought was the fun things to do wanted to start drinking and wanted to start partying and wanted to start doing all these things that I knew better but still wanted to go do so that's what I did I took that hard left and then around 16 16 and a half ish I got kicked out of my house and was homeless for nine months lived in a car for nine months until my cousin God bless her which is not shut my cousin sister because she's like my sister but she found out and she'll have me to move in with her up here in Knoxville by the grace of God even though I didn't know at the end I still graduated from high school and you know had a job and and maintained all these things but still just did not do the right thing so to speak I would keep a job and I would still be doing the wrong things so in that I met my first husband who was also a person who was very much true the wrong thing and we married we met and we married and we had two sons and he was he was probably one of if not the biggest drug dealer in Knoxville so of course I picked up on that I mean I helped him I helped him sell the drugs I helped him run the drugs I would go get keys of drugs from from from Florida and drive them up here maybe in the quintessential white girl if I got pulled over I could talk myself out of a ticket and did many many times so you know helped him do wrong that was what I did I was his partner in crime then I got pregnant with my first son and I'm like I'm done I'm done with that I've got to take care of now I don't want to do this anymore I surely don't end up in prison I've been to jail numerous times he'd been to prison numerous times so that's where my life started to turn and I knew enough to pray like I treated God like a genie oh like I'm home let me rub Lord if you keep us safe if you get my husband out of jail that was always my prayer let him make her roll this time you know all these crazy prayers when I went back I'm like but you answered him you know I'm like really but then in that it drew me closer to him and then my husband died he was shot and killed in a drug don't go bad imagine that I mean I lied about that like I would oh no you wouldn't do anything wrong who was I kidding but I mean I literally lied and everybody knew what he did but fast forward I lost my job three days later I lost my husband the day after that I lost our home so with all in within a week of each other the whole dynamic of my life change I had a three-year-old and a 14-month-old so we moved in with his mother who is an absolute angel from the Lord and we lived her for about five years and you're so close to her it's very much close I mean where she is we're Naomi and Ruth I'm telling you so in living with her with with my two sons I started going to church I was like this was my exact words if I remember them I have tried everything that the world has to offer I'm gonna go see this man named Jesus that was what I said I'm gonna go see who this Jesus guy is basically this was me talking to me in my streets vernacular so I started going to church and I was safe I was saved and then I thought well there's gotta be more to it than just this so so you at that point you would say that you were did you have that knowing to start seeking yes or did you start watching everybody going is that how I'm supposed to be no I started reading like I really started reading the word and trying to you know to really try to understand and digest the word still yet to also in that time praying for husband because I had two small boys who didn't know their father who when I was 31 I was 14 months there was just really the memories for my three-year-old was there but I'm a 14 month old so I was like Lord I really would like to have a man of God I didn't have a lot of stipulations he didn't have to be you know six-foot tall tall dark and hands on this that and the other thing just a man of God that was my literal prayer so for five years I went to church for five years I learned and praise God I was in a church with a teacher Dr. Reverend Eric Lee he's in Chicago now mighty man of God I mean he is he is a word man and I'm very thankful for that today so fast for those five years I'm just really given no you I want I desire you to tell okay your story well in those five years I mean I learned and I read and I prayed and then at that point did you had you had your encounter with the Holy Ghost yet no okay no I had not so I met I was going to buy a car okay so so funny and I was we had dropped my kids off I had money in a Kroger bag yes I had money in a Kroger bag it's funny I know how yes no this was a lot of money this was like you know $25,000 in a Kroger bag because you had to have his cash your check in my defense and over the weekend I couldn't just lie to the bank on a Sunday get a cashier's check written out to so-and-so dot forward or whatever I didn't know where I was gonna buy a car but I knew exactly what I wanted so I searched on a search on a search on a search on a Jefferson City I drove more of a town Oak Ridge I'm talking about everywhere around the around Knoxville I wanted a four-door forward so Monday morning at my boys office school I drove down Clinton highway and there was like a Ford sitting over there at Vickrey Nissan and it was like a big big big in a lot shining down on this I was like man they must have got that in Andre so I you turned around and flew over there and I got out and went to the door and lo and behold Jamal Badget opened the door and he's like well can I help you I said sure I'd like to I'd like to buy that truck that's exactly what I said and he said do you want to drive it I said we can drive it but I'm gonna buy it and so let me go get the keys in that brief interaction when he went back in it was a cold rainy January the 25th morning I looked up to heaven and said Lord is he the one within that three minute interaction so and it was so natural the rest of the day was so so natural so obviously I bought the truck and it took forever I'm like I'm paying cash there's no financing I'm giving you money I mean I just need the keys I was there for like eight hours so at the end of it he was like can I get your number and I was like well sure that's why took eight hours exactly now I knew then now I knew that now I know that I didn't know that then I was like this is when I had this I'd be here all week that was my thought so I was like I got to get my children and you know dot-all this and dot-all that and so he asked for my number I said yeah I said it's on all that paperwork that I just did so if you want it that's worth that so fast forward he called for two weeks and I didn't answer the phone because I was being hard at it but anyway here we are today married and in ministry together into answer a question about the Holy Spirit no so when I knew that there was something missing I didn't know what but I was like there's got to be more of them come on come on this you know not that not to negate this but if you don't have the Holy Spirit this is almost impossible to understand it's almost like reading a novel oh come on you need to talk about that right there it is just like words on the page I mean I can say and read first Timothy all day and half tonight but if the Holy Spirit is not giving me understanding it's literally just words because even right here in verse 4 I just flipped it open it says now the Spirit speak it expressively and later time what spirit you know like seriously he just did that so and Jamal so happened to be a minister of the gospel so I would ask him questions because there were so much I didn't understand and then so we're going to church and you know we're together and we're planning on I plan on getting married it was really a whirlwind but then we ended up going to a revival that dear friends of ours invited us to so we went and it was a puzzle Keith Mackey from NASA albohamas doing the revival so he started speaking and he started prophesying and I'm gonna be honest I'm honest I never believed in prophecy I'd seen it on TV and I was like so that is crap that is all stage this was my thought process well I was sitting there and we were trying to move into a home and we had prayed about it we had walked around like Jericho we had anointed the home with oil and a puzzle Mackey looked at me and said you and I'm like the Lord says yes so I'm looking all around 50-60 people there and I'm always looking at him and I'm looking all around and and he then he pointed directly at me and he was like you and whatever I had on I was like oh he said the Lord says yes about that house well I'm sick of work I mean I was done I looked at Jamal and I was like did you hear him because how would he know I've ever seen this man he lives in the Bahamas first I'd ever seen him a day in my life freak me out so we went back the next night and this is where I learned that there was a Holy Spirit come on and I was like that's what I've been missing so I was baptized in the fire of the Holy Spirit with evidence speaking in tongues and then this began to be enlightened my senses were heightened my understanding of this began to change the whole dynamic and trajectory of my walk with the Lord now that I went walking with him I went just out there deliberately sinning and doing the wrong thing but you know listening to the wrong music didn't bother me saying the random cussword didn't bother me having road rage episodes didn't bother me so the conviction wasn't there not really no I mean you know what's wrong not to cuss I know what it's supposed to but it wasn't like if I did it I'd be like oh man I'm so sorry God okay well my bad let me go on with it it went nothing to play some rap music going down the road but nothing didn't bother me and and I'm not talking about Christian rap talking about D-rap you know and listening to these things and doing all these things that you know weren't really wrong but they were you know at the end of the day that you're opening these gates that you don't need to open so entering the Holy Spirit I'm like I don't listen to that garbage all my presets are on Christian radio stations you know all that music was gone horror movies for instance a lot of people don't think there's anything wrong with that I do I mean I don't think that is anything we're supposed to listen to or watch so we got rid of all those through them all way you know just things started to really just happen for me in my life because now I had what I had been missing come on I had really got plugged into the one thing that I really really needed to solidify my relationship for the intimacy that I was lacking and that's a that's a big one right there you heard her say intimacy and Apostle Chris and myself we teach a lot on this because once you know the Holy Spirit as your guide as your teacher as your friend as he's everything you know Catherine Coleman and people have heard me say this how many times Catherine Coleman said if you don't have a relationship with the Holy Spirit you're gonna completely miss it you've got to fall in love with the Holy Spirit also because the Holy Spirit was sent to illuminate to guide us to teach us to correct us to convict us so once you had your encounter with the Holy Spirit okay we're gonna fast forward a little bit how when did you realize you were called into ministry I'm not gonna say immediately but it was a few months after the fact and of course I was like mmm just not gonna do it this was me talking to God no no no if you've got to meet Lord you know how you used to live you know how many people know how you still live you know how many people know who I used to marry to do you know what I used to do now I'm asking God these questions I'm not asking my friend I'm not asking this tangible human I'm talking to the one who's seen everything and of course the answer was I wish I know I know what you did and I need you to tell people what he brought what I brought you from so that is and I popped up to my husband about it we were married at this point and I was like no I just don't know I mean I'm just out of some know but fast forward and here I am now as a pastor or evangelist or whatever hat that I need to wear that day because I'm not always just a pastor sometimes I'm your sounding board you know and you've got to be all these things that the Holy Spirit needs you to be but I thought it for a really long time and to put a date on it I can't really put a date on it because I fought it for so long and then finally even Apostle Mackie and his wife Shantell Mackie who's a prophetess and he's an apostle they're both prophets actually and prophetess but he was like you know you got to call on your life even even now he's like the other day just inbox me and said I really see you going higher in the ministry and I'm like wow you know my god but you know there's so much to do there's so much labor out there there's so much harvest to be brought in and the laborers are so so few so I want to do whatever Holy Spirit tells me that I need to do whatever that is I mean I don't have to have a title I'm just Lee and Badget comma whatever God needs me to do that day you know it might be pastoring it might not it might be serving the homeless it might be whatever but it is you know it's whatever the Holy Spirit says do on that day so here you are you've come from basically drug trafficking drug dealing losing a husband to murder yeah okay now this woman has probably seen more than a lot of you that are gonna be tuning in fast forward you're saved you're baptized in the Holy Ghost you're here in the Lord you're running from the Lord you finally answer the call because your husband answered the call hey well he already answered the call he had been in ministry for many years so you know he kind of pulled you into it probably reluctantly if I were to sum that up yeah so can you share a quick example of how you handled a tragic tragic situation that has directly or indirectly affected members of your congregation how did you handle it well handled it with prayer and and there's a couple things that come to mind actually soon as you read that that question I try not to react quickly I feel like if you react immediate then it's your flesh like I feel like the flesh has bubbled up and I'm gonna just be like you know like I used to be because I was always hands-on when I was out in the world I was a fighter so now I got a fight in the spirit so I got to go in the intersection I've got a fast come on and I may full-blown top one diabetics so for those of you who think that you can't fast because you're on insulin you can because the Lord will give you the desires of your heart but there are some things that have transpired in our ministry that really required prayer and fasting and intercession and really going down and sack off and ashes in the literal sense so in that out of all of it you come up and you show them the love of God no matter what happened whether it was me and my husband that was in the wrong or whether it was the person in the church who was wrong you take your onus and your responsibility and you and you go to them and you like okay this is what happened this is what the Lord says about it because I promise you it's in here somewhere and nothing new under the sun and then you speak to the person or the issue and then you let the Holy Spirit handle it because anytime that you try to in your own strength in your own power it's going your then your flesh is going to get the glory so if we don't do it the way that he says which what he says in here and it's in there in so many places then you have you've completely you've missed the whole point you've missed the whole function of the Holy Ghost I love that I love that because what's highlighted there is don't be quick to react to adversity I think that's been say that again slow to speak slow to speak because we trip up our own selves we trip up our blessings we trip up our calling because we react in flesh and not in spirit and oftentimes we make decisions whether it's in ministry whether it's in business whether it's in in our daily walk with our spouses that they'll spout off something and we react instead of step back breathe and do exactly what you just said and that also means in ministry when we're dealing with people I mean our job is to deal with people all day long so in your brief synopsis and we're gonna have to continue this what would you say in this hour as a leader you're also a business owner entrepreneurial how would you encourage the body of Christ in the hour of what we're facing going into the new year somebody may see the six months from now what would you say to the body of Christ how would you encourage them during trials and tribulations you know this seems like something that everybody would say but we have literally got to seek the Lord with our whole heart at this point it's not just a cliche it's not just a cool churchy saying come on you've got to really seek him and in your seeking you've got to really see him and we have got to pray listen whether you believe or whether you don't you have got to pray and seek the Lord prayer is the most important thing that we have it's communication with that he got it's communication Lord help me then pause and listen if all you can get out is Lord help me or Jesus I need you that's right pause and listen you don't have to to quote every scripture from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22 you don't it is great to repeat scripture back to the Lord but if you're not there yet pray God I need you and he'll come but the thing is we get in his way we get into God help me I really need your help there you know I mean I did I talked to God but you know those three seconds I didn't hear come on you got to give him time because his time is different than your time he's not bound by this thing for this cell phone clock he is not bound by that he is time so you got to give him what he needs and that's your time these two or three second prayers ain't cutting it no that and you're exactly right and we want that instant gratification of that microwave instant so we go and tell everybody I need you to pray I need you to do this fine it is to come to friends somebody come into agreement with but don't get a hundred of them because you're gonna get a hundred different opinions it's gonna put their their voice and it may not be God's will you want God's perfect will so take that pause have your inner circle but don't have a whole lot of people that your cast in those pearls do because they may not agree with what God is trying to tell you know a lot of times God's trying to talk to us but we're not listening the best thing I can tell anybody with that instance is what I tell everybody in Bible study on Wednesday night and if they were here they would tell you you've got to have those people that you trust people say a circle you know you're smiling or circle I say a square because when you're back into a corner who's gonna have your back there's no corner in a square that's right so you got to have your few that you truly trust with the depth of your being that you can come and vomit that mess out and be like I really need you to agree with me in prayer that number one the Lord's will be done right and however he works it out I can receive it or accept the way that he did it knowing that he is God and God I'll buy his cell I mean you're correct when you get six seven eight fifteen people I'll pray for the one thing where everybody's gonna come back to you with a variance of opinions and all those opinions are not of God because he's not the God of chaos and confusion it's all got to come into alignment with his word so that's why you need very few that you trust completely with the inner your inner most those things that really weigh heavy on you and we all have a heavy burden I know because I carry one but we got to learn how to cast it and those that are burden carriers like me we got to learn how to take it from somebody else and cast it over and not just hold on to it amen amen you know I'm gonna I'm gonna have her back for another episode so you're gonna have to really watch our website you're gonna have to really watch because we're not through here I truly believe that we have to have real conversations for you to have a better understanding and how to walk your life out and and walking it out
