Defected are proud to revisit the legendary Todd Edwards’ House Masters collection, with a remix from revered underground selector Royal-T. Released in 2021, the original compilation demonstrated Todd’s approach to experimentation in its full glory; his entirely fresh sound, born from chopped up samples and vocal clips, birthed a new genre while giving the American-born producer major underground credibility in the UK and the rest of Europe. Ever since those pioneering releases in the 90s, Todd has cemented himself as one of the fathers of UK garage and he continues to inspire electronic artists to this day. One of these artists is Royal-T, one third of revered UK garage project t q d, who gives Todd’s 1998 classic ‘The Dream’ a bass-heavy spin that serves as a love letter to Todd’s heady original.
