De VS en Iran gaan de komende zestig dagen onderhandelen over een vredesakkoord. Maar wat gaat er precies veranderen rondom de Straat van Hormuz? Iran en Oman krijgen een ‘administratieve rol’ in het beheer ervan, maar dat was voor deze oorlog niet zo. Moet de scheepvaart daarvoor dan ook iets gaan betalen? Volgens Koen Aartsma van Clingendael zou dat neerkomen op tolheffing. En correspondent Judith Spiegel in Koeweit over de verdere gevolgen van de deal voor de Golfregio. Als daar bij de lokale verkiezingen vandaag Labour-kandidaat Andy Burnham wint, kan hij vanuit het parlement premier Keir Starmer als partijleider uitdagen tot een leiderschapsstrijd. Maar de uitkomst van de verkiezingen vandaag is nog verre van zeker: de Reform-kandidaat zit Burnham namelijk op de hielen.
