Tomboy Tirade Ep 32: Deluka on the Radio

Holy keyholes! It's a claustrophobis episode of door lock proportions! As LA-based, Birmingham-born band, Deluka find themselves locked in the recording studio, the Tomboy Tarts,Persis and Raven find themselves bored stiff on a Saturday trying to find something decent to listen to on the radio. As Persis switches channels, a radio signal connects them to Deluka who are desperately looking for anyone to get them out of the studio. Raven makes a quick call to Dumpling Locksmiths to solve the problem and as everyone waits for the locksmith, they chat about the shocking suicide of Robin Williams and how social media played such a huge role in the reporting and mass mourning of his death, Michael Jackson's unhygienic lifestyle, Deluka's brand new EP, "Bonds" which is their first release in 4 years and the band even give us a 'live' acoustic version of a track from the EP, 'Dead of Night' before the Raven and Persis lose the signal again. The tomboys are disappointed. Could things get any worse? As Persis decides to head out to McDonald's for a pick me up meal, the tomboys soon realise that they too are locked in their apartment, just like Deluka! About Deluka Just who are Deluka? Just one of the spiffiest, catchiest bands on the planet! That's what. Deluka are a British indie rock and new wave band. Originally formed in Birmingham in 2004, the band moved to Brooklyn, New York upon being signed by a US label. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Ellie Innocenti, programmer, producer and guitarist Kris Kovacs, bassist Robbie G and drummer Stevie J. Palmer. Their first full length album, Broken Sleeping Patterns, was released in 2008, which contained the song 'Sleep is Impossible' that featured in the 2008 video game Grand Theft Auto IV. Their second full-length album, You Are The Night was released in 2010 on Vel Records and they are now out with their first recording in 4 years, 'Bonds'.
