Tony Fontão (Leeway)
from The Brooklyn Blast Furnace · host Relatively Unscathed
My guest on this episode is, in my opinion, is the criminally overlooked Tony Fontão. Tony played drums on the classic Leeway record, "Born To Expire." We talk all about him leaving his native Sao Paolo, Brazil, coming to New York City in search of his dream of playing music as a teenager. He speaks about the entire recording process in order to create the debut Leeway record, being screwed by Profile Records and fond memories from a time that will never be duplicated. This was, as always, a lot of fun to do. Rest in Peace Eddie Pomponio aka Eddie Sutton aka Eddie Leeway. Rest in Peace Michael Gibbons. Respect. Enjoy.
