Vegas Nacy (Faded Line. Precious Souls USA)

After a short break, the podcast is back with my guest, my brother, Vegas Nacy. The singer for Faded Line and the creator of an incredible non-profit called Precious Souls, which helps at risk and abused children. We talk about the band, his previous bands, and his non-profit. We get into the upcoming show at Empire Live he's playing with Biohazard, as well as living an interesting, busy and fun life, not to mention the banter in between all of that. Vegas is definitely one of the good ones! Support his band and Precious Souls. Enjoy. Respect. Howie Abrams & Pete Koller (Heavy Heaving. Sick Of It All)

Available now on all platforms here: https://linktr.ee/thebrooklynblastfurnace It's been almost four months since I recorded an episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast. I can't think of a better way to end the hiatus with these two gentlemen. Howie Abrams and Pete Koller, ladies and gentlemen. We set this up in order to discuss the "For the Love of Lou: The Brooklyn Way" benefit show that Howie and I put together, along with any updates on our friend Lou Koller, and the Heavy Healing Film . We discuss all of that, as well as what's been going on with the guys in Sick Of It All since we all got the horrible news about Lou's cancer. The show is on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Lucky 13 Saloon in Brooklyn. Online tickets sold out in 54 minutes, but there will be fifty tickets (no more, no less) available at the door. First come, first serve. Please consider donating to one of the two official sites for Lou Koller and his fight against cancer. Chris Fist (Clenched Fist NYC)

After a little hiatus, the podcast is back with my guest, my man, Chris Fist. Chris has been in the hardcore scene since the first wave of bands in New York City. A founding member of Clenched Fist NYC, as well as playing in everyone from Life's Blood, Mental Abuse, Breakdown, and The Wilding Incident. He was in a bar in Brooklyn with a special appearance from our friend Zak. This isn't even an interview at all. It's a crazy funny conversation that constantly goes off the rails. So strap in and know beforehand that this one is chaotic. Much respect! Anthony Russo & Big Rob Castoria (The Mamaluke Show)

The Mamaluke Show starring Anthony Russo, Rob Castoria, and yours truly. After recording separate episodes with these guys, we had a text thread going on and decided to combine our idiotic behavior and do an episode with the three of us. So here it is. A bunch of nonsensical banter, along with a couple of serious topics as well. We talk a bit about the All day Barbecue/Benefit show I am currently putting together at Lucky 13 Saloon for Robs mom, as well as touch on the fact that our friend Lou Koller is currently cancer-free. Then, we dive back into insignificant ramblings of mental patients. Enjoy. Craig Setari (Sick Of It All)

My friend Craig Ahead is the guest on this episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast (Group). He's been on several times in the past, but it's been a while. We pretty much catch up on what's been going on with him since Sick Of It All is on a temporary hiatus due to the unfortunate situation with Lou. We touch on his run with Marky Ramone and JUDGE for a moment and head right back into some nonsensical banter about food, his ancient Chinese secret meatball recipe, and some boxing talk. Always one of my favorite people to hang and bullshit with. Enjoy. Nate Holley (Vile Mind. Huntington Music Collective. Prestige Tattoo & Piercing)

Nate Holly is my guest on this episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace. A short, twenty-second video that came across my feed caught my attention. It turns out the clip was of their first ever show a couple of months ago. I needed to know the story behind this band and the heavily tattooed man singing with a buck knife on his hip. So, I reached out. Vile Mind is just a few months old, and they've been making noise in the Huntington, West Virginia area, and due to that video clip, a lot of people are aware of them now. Nate couldn't have been a nicer, more gracious guy. A tattoo artist at Prestige Tattoo & Piercing, a father as well as a man with over a dozen years of sobriety under his belt. He helped create the Huntington Music Collective, which is a grassroots, DIY movement that brings hardcore shows to the area. An area that has been decimated by drugs over the years, he has created a positive space for kids and adults alike to come and hang out without drugs or alcohol. I'm glad I reached out to him. I'm sure he'll be back on with another member of Vile Mind once their first EP drops next month. The utmost respect to him and what he is doing in Huntington, West Virginia. Anthony Russo Jr. (A Breed Apart NYHC)

Available now everywhere here: https://linktr.ee/thebrooklynblastfurnace I have no idea why he hasn't been on the show several years ago, at least a couple of times. This was way overdue. My guest is my boy Anthony Russo, Jr. He is the singer for New York Hardcore band, A Breed Apart. We go on and on about hardcore, how social media ruined a lot of shit, the days from when I was booking shows at Lucky 13 Saloon and a ton of other banter. We probably could've babbled on for another couple of hours easily. One thing is for sure, there's not many of us left. So, sit back and listen to how neither of us has a Brooklyn accent whatsoever. Available now on all platforms here: https://linktr.ee/thebrooklynblastfurnace My guest is a man I've known now for close to a decade. I'm surprised he hasn't been on earlier. He's played in Leeway NYC/The Eddie Leeway Show, Hard Response, The Casting Out, Comin' Correct and besides being a solo artist and collaborating with Keith Caputo, he has a new band called Ritualized. We are all over the place in this rather long episode. From hardcore to road trips to movies and guilty pleasure songs, we run through a lot! Sit back and enjoy. This was a lot of fun to do. Respect. He also played with Eddie Sutton in the last few years of Leeway NYC. Ladies and gentlemen... Artie Alexander. He's an incredible musician and an all-around good guy. We discuss the aforementioned bands, we talk a little about Eddie, along with the tribute show that I had put together in his honor. Artie played a huge part in that event. We bullshit about how none of the things that we currently do would be possible without being sober. Artie should've been on the podcast much earlier, better late than never. Yo! Available Now everywhere: https://linktr.ee/thebrooklynblastfurnace *Disclaimer* This is a long one! Strap in, kids. You have been warned.— in Forest Hills. We touched on the part he played in Grand Theft Auto IV: Liberty City. We go back into old New York City to movies, then back to bands, then start discussing our mutual love for cemeteries. Mixed within all of these are random side conversations about how the soul and feel of NYC has either changed or is gone altogether. And of course we mention how our friends parents had the right to slap us and that there was always that one kid that wouldn't tell anybody that he went home and stayed in while playing manhunt, jackin' up the entire game. This was awesome to do, and I'm sure we'll wind up doing another episode. We could've gone for another couple of hours easily. My guest is a legendary figure in the hardcore scene. With a resume that spans forty years. He's played in bands such as Blind Approach, Agnostic Front, Madball, The Eulogy, and currently H2O. Ladies and gentlemen, Matt Henderson. We run through his entire history from growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the formation of Blind Approach to playing CBGB's and planting the seeds to lifelong friendships with future members of some of the bands he wound up playing in. He then decided to move to Boston to go to school from Minnesota and, with the friendships made in the past, opened the doors to joining Agnostic Front. From there, the rest is history. He also has a rap project out under the name JayWay 908. Bayway has quickly caught on with the hardcore scene, and I'm all in as well. I met Jay only a couple months ago in person out on Long Island at a show. We started to bullshit for a few minutes and asked him if he'd be down to come on. We go into that certain moment that we all have that was our turning point headed into the hardcore scene. A couple of his former bands, and eventually the birth of Bayway. He is also the new singer for the legendary 25 Ta Life, so of course, I had to ask how that all came about. A super humble guy who loves and appreciates every aspect of making music and playing liv. This was one episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast that I honestly never thought would happen. We touch on the early days of touring, the first record, and 32 years of Urban Discipline. My guest on this episode is someone I've known for over thirty years. Singer for Brooklyn hardcore bands, Inhuman and The Last Stand and bass player turned singer for Confusion... Michael Scondotto. We go way back to the early 90s hardcore scene when we first began to go to shows. the early days of Confusion, Nobody's Perfect, Lament, Life Of Agony, Merauder, Patterns, and several more. The days of L'amours, Coney Island High and Wetlands. It was a unique time in New York City where the hardcore scene was relatively new and thriving. Michael recently had the Confusion discography re-released on vinyl through Generation Records, which is a must-have if you're a collector. We go from Confusion to the formation of Inhuman, our love of horror movies and the birth of The Last Stand. He speaks about the entire recording process in order to create the debut Leeway record, being screwed by Profile Records and fond memories from a time that will never be duplicated. Listen up! This is available now on all platforms here: https://linktr.ee/thebrooklynblastfurnace Cuz Joe and I sat down for an hour and a half. We start off talking about the hypocrisy and lies surrounding what was going to be a show in Tompkins Square Park to benefit Jesse Malin. But it worked out and it was moved to this Friday night at Irving Plaza. We go into this years BnB Bowl where Agnostic Front is celebrating and 40 years of "Victim in Pain". From the new NYC Tattoo and Arts Convention at Terminal 5 to stories about The Outlaw Vinnie Stigma, reminiscing about past BnB Bowls to the East Village Radio show coming back. This was a lot of fun to do. He'll definitely be back on whenever something is coming up. Thanks for your time, Cuz. Respect. Support BlacknBlue Productions. The Return of Lou Koller (Sick Of It All)

It's Clobberin' Time!!! The return of Lou Koller of Sick Of It All has dropped on all platforms. It's been several years since he was on the podcast. A lot has happened since we last had a conversation like this. "Scratch The Surface" turned 30 years old, "Blood, Sweat and No Tears" turned 35! "Death To Tyrants" turned 18, and "Based On A True Story" made its 14th revolution around the sun. We talk about all of that. From anniversaries, to the impact of the pandemic on touring, to recording a new record. We might talk about Craig Ahead and wonder why a particular band is his choice as a benchmark for hardcore. From Steven Seagal to miniature ponies to the recording of "Wake The Sleeping Dragon"... we cover a lot. We go for just under two hours after we both wondered what we were going to talk about. This was a lot of fun, a lot of laughs, and was awesome to catch up with him. The utmost respect. Vato Rob (Everybody Gets Hurt. Red Eyed Devil. Terror Ave.)

My guest on this episode was years overdue to join me on the podcast. My friend, singer for Everybody Gets Hurt, Red Eyed Devil, formerly of Terror Ave. and Setback... Vato Rob Cullin aka Twiggz, aka Rob EGH aka Rob IDS. The guitarist, Miami Frank and drummer, Mario for EGH make cameos for a couple of minutes. We talk about everything from the early days of EGH and how Terror Ave. was spawned. We go into the initial break-up of EGH and into Red Eyed Devil. Along with the music of Red Eyed Devil, which was an honor for me to sit and witness its progression from the first and second demos and the full length record. Rob talks about how him and bass player Chris B. met and their long-lasting friendship since Junior High School. Rob is one of my favorite humans on the planet and has nothing but respect for him and each and every one of the members of the band. Rest in Peace, Lil Gregg Heyward. We all miss ya, kid! Enjoy. Joe Stanley (Perseverance. Veteran. Departed)

Joe Stanley is the guest on this episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace. I had him on very briefly during a This Is Hardcore Festival back in 2017. This time around, we have a full conversation about what he has been up to as well as his new charity, PERSEVERANCE that supports Veterans. He is a combat veteran himself and has seen his share of conflict. Joe is a great guy and I have nothing but the utmost respect for him and what he is doing in order to give back to veterans with PTSD. The Rap Trainwreck (Diabolic. Nightwalker. Coast. A.M. Early Morning)

You were warned, and I knew it was gonna happen. Prepare yourself for a barrage of banter, jokes, offensive language, and nonsense from four underground rappers and producers. Diabolic has been on several times before, as has Coast Locastro. I hit up Nightwalker to see if he was down to come on the podcast, and he was, and told me he just wrapped a record with A.M. Early Morning, so it would be cool to talk about it. We go from why Coast is wearing Amazon sunglasses in a dark room, why a couple of us live like cavemen and don't have the new, fancy bidet models, to inclement weather, the mafia, gangs in Chicago, my book Relatively Unscathed and what Coast ate for dinner earlier that night. Strap in because it's a chaotic one. Respect. Sal Abruscato (Type O Negative. Life Of Agony. APHND. King Of The Locusts)

The one and only Sal Bbruscato is my guest on this episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace. We speak about growing up in Brooklyn in the mid-eighties into the nineties and how he wound up meeting Peter Steele. From playing drums in Toximia to becoming a member of Type O Negative. We discuss recording Slow, Deep and Hard as well as Bloody Kisses. We touch on his time in Life Of Agony for a bit as well as recording River Runs Red. Then into him creating A Pale Horse Named Death. He has a new project in the works which we discuss as well, King of the Locusts. I hope he releases some new material sooner than later. This was, as always, a fun conversation to have. Respect. Louie Beateaux (Carnivore. Agnostic Front. Fallout)

I have been wanting to have a conversation with my guest for a few years. He was ridiculously busy, then a pandemic got in the way, and then I killed off the podcast for a couple of years. He's since semi-retired and less busy, the pandemic is over, and the podcast is back from the dead. My guest is the legend himself, Louie Beato. Drummer for Carnivore, Fallout, and Agnostic Front. We talked about everything from the above-mentioned bands to Lenny & John's Pizza, Animal Hall, iguanas, and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre to the unfortunate and tragic passing of Peter Steele and Keith Alexander. This was a lot of fun to do. Thanks again for your time, Louie! Kevin Bednarz (Artist. Explorer. Entrepreneur)

Something a bit different. I sit down with my friend Kevin Bednarz for a laid-back discussion. He is a ridiculous artist, an entrepreneur as well as a member of the Delta Bravo Urban Exploration Team. I met him through Danny Boy O'Connor at the All-Star Comic Con, a convention he put together, in which Danny was a guest. We talk everything from his pop-up art show, to tracking down film locations as well as the book I'm writing. Kevin is one of the good ones. Michael Alago (Former A&R Executive. Author)

I sat down with my good friend, Michael Alago. Known for being a former A&R executive for Elektra and Geffen Records. He signed Metallica as well as White Zombie, amongst many others. His documentary "Who the Fuck is that Guy? The Fabulous Journey of Michael Alago" is incredible, as is his memoir, "I Am Michael Alago: Breathing Music, Signing Metallica, Beating Death. We speak on all of the above and go off on several tangents. One of my favorite conversations I've had on the podcast for sure. Hilarious. Enjoy. Intro by Phil LoCastro and Joseph A. Coast Locastro (Underground Rapper. Shit Talker)

My man Coast returns to the podcast. He was initially on along with Diabolic a couple years back. We talk everything from his new record Slash Coast, his Wu-Locastro ep, to filming movies, along with his role in the upcoming movie Even the Score. We are all over the place here, from growing up in the Bronx and both of us living like we were on the set of a Scorcese film to mentally ill girls, gabagool and syphilis. Enjoy. Danny Marianino returns along with special guest Mick Lambrou. Danny, known for being the singer for the North Side Kings and knocking out little Glen Danzig, along with releasing several books. Never Punch A Rock Star, It Blows My Mind, To Make Matters Worse, and several others. Mick is a native Australian and incredible cartoonist. They joined forces to create It Blows My Mind, which has a part two being released soon. The banter in this episode is hilarious. We could have gone for two more hours, easily. Enjoy! I was looking forward to having this conversation with Michael "IBeam" Cline. He wrote an incredible book, "New York City Junky Days," which chronicles his downward spiral into heroin addiction in the East Village. We talk all about his addiction, as well as his recovery. He also took all of the photographs in the Agnostic Front, "Last Warning" album, which was recorded live at CBGB in December of 1992. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did doing it. Respect. THE FINAL EPISODE. Aaron Bedard (BANE) "Goodbye."

This one is dedicated to Brendan "Stu" Maguire. This is the third time I've had Aaron on the podcast. One of my favorite people to chop it up with for sure. As you already may know, whenever I record an episode, there's no telling what direction it will go. This one is no exception. I reached out to him a few months back to come back on the show, but the timing just wasn't right, and rightfully so with the passing of Stu, the surprise set Bane did at the "We're With Stu" benefit show, in which he was supposed to be at and several other factors. So, I gave it time... and here we are. The timing this time around was impeccable. "Letting go is never easy to do Everyday's a new door that we all must go through..." Thank you all for listening. Respect. Goodbye. On YouTube and all podcast platforms here: https://linktr.ee/thebrooklynblastfurnace

King Ov Hell. (Gorgoroth. God Seed. Abbath. Ov Hell. Audrey Horne. I. Sahg)

Hail! Legendary Norwegian Black Metal musician... Tom Visnes... better known as "King ov Hell" or simply, "King". He has played in several bands from Gorgoroth, God Seed, Abbath, Ov Hell, Audrey Horne, Sahg and I. We talk a little bit about his bands and black metal. How he was literally charged in a court of law for blasphemy... but mostly about the state of the world and the insane amount of deceit that has been slowly brainwashing society over hundreds of years. From government to falling in line with political ideology, religion, climate change, covid and flat earth. Yes... flat earth. We discuss all of it. Super interesting guy for sure. My guest on Episode 252 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is none other than John "Porcell" Porcelly (Paramananda Dasa), also known as The Hardcore Yogi. This conversation felt like it was 15 minutes long. We start off with his Yoga practice and where you can find him online to participate, then quickly go into how he grew up, his early influences, his first bands, the formation, break-up and reformation of "Youth Of Today", the same with "Judge", new music he's working on with a new band, new "Shelter" music and the indescribable feeling of when you hear that particular song at a specific time in your life that literally changes your entire path.
