from The Liquid Green Health Show · host The Liquid Green Health Show
On New Year's Day 2023, many will be braving the icy waters of Lake Ontario, including Janet Cox, co-host of the Liquid Green Health Show. The Toronto Polar Bear Club was started in 2005 by three guys who wanted to share their love of the Polar Bear Dip with Toronto and raise funds for great charities that provide services to the people of Toronto. It started with just 20 and now there are over 500 participants who now #Daretodip. In this episode, Tamara Moore, one of the organizers of the event will talk to us about this year's charitable recipient, BOOST CHILD & YOUTH ADVOCACY CENTRE. (Boost CYAC) sees approximately 800 children and teens for abuse investigations and another 1000 children in trauma treatment and court preparation programs. They bring police, child protection workers, nurses, advocates, and trauma specialists together so kids can tell their stories just once and then begin the road to healing.
