Traditions on the Gold Coast
from The Next EDventure · host Ed Pickering
In todays episode, we will dive into a tradition that has been passed down the generations even before the English settlers arrived in Maryland- Hunting. Not done now as a necessity for survival, but more as a sporting hobby in many areas. Here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland it has been a long time tradition as well as a business for many, whether directly or indirectly. From restaurants, to farmers leasing land to hunters, the other various small businesses (ie. lodging, gas stations, guide services, meat/game processing shops, grocery stores, gun shops, outdoor stores, you get the picture) all benefit in some way to the enterprise of hunting. But that is not our focus on this episode. The Next EDventure that we are going on today is more about the memories made with my children (both young adults now, each in their own right) and enjoying the experience. Regardless on your views and how they relate to hunting and firearms, we can all agree that certain family traditions can easily become the next EDventure if you step back and enjoy the moment. Be present in THIS moment. And when you are doing that next trip, or experiencing a family tradition i hope you can take a moment and shift your perspective and if you are lucky it can be your next EDventure. Peace and Blessings, enjoy the podcast.
