Syd is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, student, entrepreneur, and influencer with a growing audience of over 148K Instagram followers (14:22). As a high school student, Syd fell into fitness as a social activity with her sister (16:31). At the start of 2018 she launched @sydprogress–and things have grown exponentially since then. What we love about Syd is her realistic approach to fitness. It’s okay and common to have aesthetic fitness goals, but it’s also okay to learn, grow, and change them over time. In her transformation posts, Syd often points out how much her mindset has changed from one picture to the next (33:42), and she works hard to integrate this mental shift in her coaching. Syd explains the meaning behind the butterfly symbol she has tattooed on her arm and printed on her merch (46:52), then we plan our post-pandemic trip to visit her in Vancouver.
