Traveldiary
from Silvio Vinci Hosted by Silvio Vinci
TRAVELDIARY [Verse 1] I wrote your name on a station wall, somewhere south of nowhere. A coffee cup, a midnight train, your picture everywhere. Different rooms, different skies, same old shoes beside the bed. Every town becomes a line in a book inside my head. [Chorus] Travel diary, keep another night for me. Every road, every face, every place I had to leave. Travel diary, pages blowing in the wind. I don’t know where I’m going— but I know where I have been. [Verse 2] Morning rain in Amsterdam, summer dust along the coast. Somewhere in a crowded bar I talked all night with someone’s ghost. Tickets sleeping in my coat, little scars from everywhere. Funny how the things we lose are the things we always carry. [Chorus] Travel diary, keep another night for me. Every road, every face, every place I had to leave. Travel diary, pages blowing in the wind. I don’t know where I’m going— but I know where I have been. [Bridge – melodic change] Maybe home is not a place, maybe home is what remains when the airports disappear and nobody knows your name. Maybe all we really own is the distance that we’ve crossed… and the people that we loved. [Final Chorus – half voice] Travel diary, leave the final page for me. There’s another road tomorrow, there’s another town to see. Travel diary… Don’t tell me how it ends. [Guitar Solo – to fade] Instrumental reprise of chorus melody Long, melodic guitar — simple, singing, emotional.
