This guest is a true adventurer, and lights a spark in the sense that he has a wanderlust for travel, in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway that is, and he went for it. Our guest this week is Curt DeBerg. Let us tell you about Curt DeBerg: Curt DeBerg, a retired accounting professor from California State University, has spent the past few years traveling the world in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway, which if you know us, you know is near and dear to our hearts. Curt has meticulously documented his journey along the way, not only documented, but literally stayed in the places where Hemingway stayed, lived, spent time, and you can see and read about his experiences in the beautiful coffee table-sized book “Traveling the World with Hemingway." It incorporates new and historical photos, as well as narrative and 240 full-color pages. We met Curt in Key West last year during the annual Hemingway Days, and are honored to have him join us on the show today. In this episode we chat about: How a trip to the Florida Keys to visit a cousin turned into a desire to travel the world in Hemingway's footsteps. Being a kindred spirit with Hemingway- having also survived a plane crash, living with mental health issues, healing along the way.
