from Peristyle Podcast - USC Trojan Football Discussion · host USCFootball.com - Ryan Abraham, 247Sports, USC, USC Trojans, USC football, College Football

In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Chris Trevino are back in studio LIVE talking about the the latest news and notes from USC spring practices. On Tuesday the Trojans held spring practice No. 7 with head coach Lincoln Riley, running backs coach Kiel McDonald, quarterback Caleb Williams, tight end Lake McRee, offensive linemen Justin Dedich and receiver Michael Jackson all speaking after the workout. The guys discuss everything they saw and heard from Tuesday's workout and Riley's Saturday Zoom call, with topics ranging the improved depth at running back to the lack of depth at tight end to the addition of defensive analyst Greg Brown. With more able bodies in the running back room, it has allowed sophomore running back Raleek Brown to get more action in the slot this spring. Riley talked about how difficult it is, both physically and mentally, for players to try and master two different positions in college, but said Brown was doing a nice job with it.With Malcolm Epps leaving the program the Trojans only have two health scholarship tight ends left on the roster this spring, but Riley could get getting some good news on that front when five-star tight end Duce Robinson makes his college choice public on Thursday.Riley also talked about how defensive guru Greg Brown can help the defense. "It can be really valuable to have a guy like that that’s extremely experienced, responsible for the whole thing, that comes in and can offer some fresh perspective, a fresh set of eyes that’s not solely responsible for one position group."If you have a question for the podcast you can drop us an email at [email protected] review, rate and subscribe to the Peristyle Podcast on Apple Podcasts! Thanks to Trader Joe's for sponsoring the Peristyle Podcast!Make sure you check out USCFootball.com for complete coverage of this USC Trojan football team.
