Police Officer Steven McDonald was on patrol in New York's Central Park on July 7 1986 when he was gunned down by a teenage boy in an unprovoked attack. As result Detective McDonald became a vent Dependent Quadruplegic for the rest of his life (he passed away in 2017). However, he rose above his disability, becoming a leader, counselor, inspiration to many others, as well as a father and a husband.
