True Crime Series Episode 4 Richard Meritt Case 8-18-23

Good morning listeners, Richard Meritt is a man from Georgia who is a former attorney. He was already facing prison time for stealing money from his clients, but while out on bail on the day he was to turn himself in, he murdered his mother Shirley. He claimed that intruders did it (I am sorry, I forgot to mention that in the episode) which was his explaination for not calling police, he said the intruders threatened his family if he called police. So he cut off his ankle monitor and fled to another state to begin a new life. The law caught up to him about 8 months later.
