From 2019 to 2022, Samuel Bateman led a breakaway polygamist FLDS sect in the aftermath of Warren Jeff’s imprisonment. The sect of loyal Warren Jeffs followers were struggling and vulnerable when Bateman showed up in their Short Creek community, near the border of Arizona and Utah.
