Truth, Freedom, and the Cost of Chaos: Judges 20–21 and John 8 (Day 135)

What happens when the truth is forgotten and everyone becomes their own authority? Today, we finish the Book of Judges with a heartbreaking civil war that nearly annihilates one of the twelve tribes. It is a grim conclusion to a period defined by the recurring phrase: "In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes." In the Gospel of John, Jesus offers the only true solution to human chaos—the Truth that sets us free. In a heated debate with religious leaders, He makes the ultimate claim of divinity, declaring that before Abraham was even born, "I Am."Today’s Scripture:📖 Judges 20–21 – The outrage at Gibeah leads to a massive civil war. The eleven tribes of Israel unite against the tribe of Benjamin. After initial defeats, Benjamin is nearly wiped out.
