5 Lessons From Today's AM Briefing The tape has gone nowhere for two straight sessions and the Battle Plan levels haven't moved an inch. It's the day before CPI, slop and chop, and this kind of market punishes the trader who needs action. Here is what today was actually teaching. Lesson 1: Manage every trade as a loser The moment you consider an entry, define where you get in, your leverage metrics, and your risk. Then a trade that runs against you first is already accounted for. Lesson 2: Right location beats a perfect bounce Battle Plan 1 ran 3.75 points against before paying 12. It was never tick-perfect, and it was still the right trade at the right location. Judge the level, not the fill. Lesson 3: In a range, assume no follow-through Most trades in slop and chop will not continue. Take the money at the mapped edge instead of holding for a trend that isn't there.
