Tuesday Çetin & Angelica Mangieri — building Galesburg's Kitchen Collective
from Galesburg's Morning News · host WGIL 93.7 FM - 1400 AM
Picture a commercial kitchen where a caterer can stage a wedding dinner, a home baker can get certified to sell her bread, and Sunday brunch becomes a standing invitation for the whole town. That's the Kitchen Collective, a shared incubator kitchen taking shape at the Galesburg Community Arts Center, led by executive director Tuesday Çetin alongside Angelica Mangieri, founder of CommunityGro. Built to give food entrepreneurs, caterers, and a new members-only social club called the Art of Nourishment a permanent home, the shell is already standing. What's missing is $75,000. Tuesday Çetin and Angelica Mangieri joined Galesburg's Morning News on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Listen to the full interview below. They talked about: How a temporary pandemic feeding program turned into a six-year partnership Why emergency food assistance wasn't enough to fix the real problem Who actually gets to use the Kitchen Collective once it's finished The $75,000 still standing between "shell" and "open" What success looks like five and ten years from now A shoutout to CommunityGro's cardboard boat race this August Related story: Galesburg nonprofits need $75,000 to finish a shared community kitchen 🎧 Subscribe to Galesburg's Morning News on Apple Podcasts 🎧 Subscribe to Galesburg's Morning News on Spotify
