Tuesday Morning Devotional - Draw Nearer to God

from Lifegiving Motherhood · host Emily Parkins

I know it's so hard to carve time in our busy lives to spend intentional time with the Lord but when you do it is a world of difference! We put so much pressure on ourselves to have perfect morning devotionals and that is just not realistic sometimes. Intentional time with your Bible or worship music will make such a difference in your relationship with Him! Hebrews 11:6 says "And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." I notice my relationship with God is much stronger when I am intentionally making time to spend with him. My mind is much quieter. The sensory overload does not OVERLOAD me. I run faster toward my kids, and am clear-headed enough to steer them in His direction. You can get through all of your challenges and hard times because He gives you strength to do so. Nurture your relationship with Him and trust that he will continue to bring you closer to him every day. You can do all things through... "Christ, who gives me strength" Philippians 4:13. Journal Prompts: Where in your life do you need to run to God today? How can you find the Lord's strength through the storm? Practical Things You Can Do TODAY: - Prayer Board: Everyone in your family can write on a prayer board. Hang it in your kitchen and every week, or every day go through and write down prayers as a family. Look at that board all week long so you remember to pray for the people or circumstances you're praying for. Encourage your kids to get involved! This can be a simple piece of paper. We have a chalk board, but a piece of paper on your fridge will do just as great! Something you see everyday! <3 - Encourage your children to spend time with their Bible. There are so many children's Bibles out there! You can even just turn on a YouTube children's devotional! - Prayer time in the car with your children. - Listen to worship music - ANYWHERE ANYTIME. I hope these help!!! As always you can follow me on Instagram at emilyrose_parkins or on my blog www.emilyparkins.com Please follow and share my Podcast with other women you feel this would help!
