Turning Nature into a Classroom

A Kansas State University child development specialist says children benefit both physically and mentally from spending time outdoors with parents and other children. Bradford Wiles says children learn through play and that being outdoors, in nature, offers children the opportunity to play and learn in a variety of fun and creative ways. Sound Living is a weekly public affairs program addressing issues related to families and consumers. It is hosted by Jeff Wichman. Each episode shares the expertise of K-State specialists in fields such as child nutrition, food safety, adult development and aging, youth development, family resource management, physical fitness and more.
