Katz's point isn't that LSU's talent is bad — it's that expecting roughly 80 newcomers to come together in one season is really hard, and that's not a knock on Kiffin, it's a knock on what the sport has become. And the question nobody over there wants asked: what happens to the guys who lose their scholarships? Compare it to Golding's position — they built this team, they like the chemistry, and absent injury they're not adding, because it isn't fair to the guys who've been in the room since January.   🕵️ Katz was ten feet away for the FBI answer. His read: Golding was adamant they didn't call the FBI in — but "he didn't say it didn't completely happen," and he "softened the blow" by offering that somebody's parent in town works for the Bureau. He also confirmed the moment: Pete initially went "what are you talking about," then "oh — okay, this is what we're talking about." Two people, watching independently, landed in the same place. And nothing was ever reported found.   🏈 Plus the football detail almost nobody picked up: you can't talk about the Ole Miss receiver room without the tight ends. If they're in 12 personnel, the No. 2 receiver matters more than the No. 3.
