Ty Pierce's Pilgrimage Journey on the Pacific Crest Trail

from Radical Sacred · host Jenny Misslin and Phillip Dieke

This week we are thrilled to journey alongside Ty Pierce as he shares about his Pacific Crest Trail hike. Ty walks us through how a resolution to spend 15 nights outdoors and to seek out adventure led him to quitting his corporate job, and ultimately hitting a 2,650 mile trail spanning 3 states, Mexico, and Canada with an acquaintance who would turn into a best friend. Ty’s pilgrimage on the PCT was rigorous and pain filled. It also brought him profound joy, connections to many people he met on the trail, and the knowledge that he could overcome anything by putting one foot in front of the other. Ty’s ability to so willingly respond to the pull of his heart is a fabulous invitation to trust the soft animal of our body when it invites us into our own knowing. Cool stuff we mentioned in this episode (or meant to anyways): The Pacific Crest Trail Alone - TV ShowTy’s Pilgrimage VideoChapters00:00 Introduction to Pilgrimage and Personal Journeys07:33 The Decision to Hike the Pacific Crest Trail14:44 Preparing for the Journey: Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Aspects18:31 Surprises and Challenges on the Trail22:06 Understanding the Pacific Crest Trail31:32 Encounters with Nature and Other Hikers34:47 Lessons Learned from the Pacific Crest Trail38:10 Encouragement for Future Pilgrims40:21 Balancing Adventure and Family Life43:15 Final Thoughts on Kindness and Joy

We specialize in unpacking the nuances of what is considered sacred and profane, particularly focusing on sex, death, and all that pertains to the circle of life. Our aim in focusing on such ”taboo” subject matter is to demystify what is unconscious, bring to light what has been known for centuries as ”the occult,” and empower the rapid transformation that is occurring on the Planet. I am Anahita Joon. Born and raised in Islamic Iran, I migrated to the US when I was 14 and began the journey to embodied freedom. For over a decade, I have been supporting female leaders to break free from systemic oppression and embrace the sacredness that is the core of every woman. This is the place you come to remember your innate wholeness, your innate Divinity and your utter and complete permission to be just the way you are. Each week, I will bring you interviews along with my spiritual and practical teachings. We’ll explore both the sacred and profane and dive deeply into all the things that have robbed women of our power and that good girls don’t talk about. Explicit How To Kill A Sacred Cow Jay Henehan How To Kill A Sacred Cow seeks to create a space where any topic is up for debate in a manner that is informed and promotes critical thought. Jay Henehan's intention isn’t to answer all the questions; but rather, to kill the mystique surrounding mainstream media and to help promote a healthy questioning of authority. How do you kill a sacred cow? You talk about it! Explicit
