UFOs and Aliens: A 50-Year Research Journey Across the Phenomenon | Philip Mantle

For nearly fifty years, Philip Mantle has investigated UFOs, interviewed experiencers and published their stories, and in this wide-ranging conversation he joins TruthSeekah to trace the journey from a Yorkshire teenager's first sighting to a body of work that has shaped modern ufology. Philip grew up in West Yorkshire, England, fascinated by the paranormal from a young age, and his interest became a life path after he saw his first UFO in the winter of 1981 on Carlton Moor. Driving across the moor with Graham Birdsall, one of the founders of the Yorkshire UFO Society, he watched a giant wheel of colored lights, like the London Eye torn off its axle, hanging silently in the sky. Graham missed it, and the moment convinced Philip that investigating the phenomenon was not a waste of time. That conviction became a publishing career. After founding Flying Disc Press, Philip has released UFO books from around the world, including UFOs Over Poland, UFOs Over Romania and Nancy Tremaine's Preordained, alongside his own classic survey of UK abduction cases, Without Consent. He is best known for his long collaboration with Calvin Parker on the Pascagoula abduction, producing Pascagoula: The Closest Encounter and Pascagoula: The Story Continues. His newest project is Introducing UFOs: A Young Person's Guide, a 150-page illustrated book with a photo section that walks the next generation through three cases per decade, from Roswell to Betty and Barney Hill, so that teenagers can learn how to evaluate evidence instead of trusting whatever tops a Google search. Philip talks about the importance of preserving the old files for future researchers and why the field needs young pilots, engineers and skywatchers.
