Cuando pensamos en exoplanetas solemos tomar como referencia al Sistema Solar y los imaginamos como enormes bolas de roca o gas que giran alrededor de alguna estrella. Los métodos de detección habituales parecen corroborar esa idea, porque la inmensa mayoría de los planetas extrasolares descubiertos hasta ahora no son visibles y tan sólo pueden ser detectados de forma indirecta, bien porque pasan por delante de la estrella, provocando una disminución de su luz, o porque generan en ella un movimiento de vaivén al girar alrededor del centro de masas que los une. Pero, Núria Miret, nuestra invitada hoy en Hablando con Científicos, nos ofrece una imagen distinta. Núria habla del descubrimiento de planetas solitarios, unos vagabundos cósmicos que se mueven por nuestra galaxia, libres, sin ataduras que los obliguen a girar alrededor de alguna estrella.
