Understanding the Pros and Cons of Delegating Responsibilities | Successful Life Podcast

from Successful Life Podcast · host Corey Berrier

As an entrepreneur, you can do anything, but you cannot do everything. We wear many hats in our businesses, and I know sometimes delegating some of your tasks to others is difficult. We tend to hold onto every task in our business and end up with burnout.  When it comes to delegation, you need to watch out for two things; you don’t want to over delegate, and you end up getting your foot off the gas pedal. Also, you want to under delegate, and end up with burnout. I have experienced both sides. I can comfortably say that delegation requires accountability if you want to win at it. It would be best if you were accountable to someone, and the person you are delegating to needs to be accountable to you.  Many business owners fail when it comes to delegation because their teams consist of people who are not ready to help them win. As you build your company culture, you need to make sure it will help you succeed. Also, when delegating, always ensure you delegate to someone better than you. In this episode, we’ll be looking at the pros and cons of delegating responsibilities. I hope this episode will help you become better at delegating.  Key Talking Points of the Episode: [03:35] What holds people back from delegating [04:57] What happens when you delegate and what happens when you don’t?
