United Airlines flight to Spain diverts back to Newark over Bluetooth device named ‘bomb’
from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand
A United Airlines flight to Spain had to go back to Newark Liberty Airport because someone named their Bluetooth device "bomb." Passengers say crew members repeatedly asked everyone to turn off all Bluetooth devices, but two devices remained on. The plane turned around three-and-a-half hours into the flight. Port Authority police swept the aircraft, and passengers were rescreened by TSA and Customs and Border Patrol before reboarding. This was the latest incident with a United Airlines flight in just a few days. On Friday, a domestic flight was diverted because of a security concern with an unruly passenger.
