Watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjdK_1Tx6Bg BORING STORY / DESCRIPTION: After lots of Tales of Phantasia, now we go with another great 90s JRPG with amazing soundtrack: Terranigma, which is another all-time favorite of mine. The source isn't among the greatest or most popular this game has to offer. But it was Winter Month in Pixel Mixers, a monthly video game music community and contest. So after considering multiple ideas, I finally decided to try something with the theme of that snowy village you (that is: Ark, the main protagonist) awakes in after a long sleep. This time, however, there is some plot twist. Ark don't awake in a calm village, but in a moment when everyone is in a party anyone is invited to. This is also one of my weirdest arrangements/covers/remixes/whatever ever done, to the point that I didn't even know how to label this in terms of genre. There is some folk/world, some metal, some electronic, even arguably some reggaeton and funky and more... That wasn't deliberate: the initial idea is to make a simple dance remix without any pretension, probably even without any performer but just 100% MIDI. However, as I started toying with more ideas and the structure was developing, this thing became that bizarre thing you all can hear now. I'm not afraid of experimentation and it's not my intention to be labelled as "a one-genre artist who can make only one thing" (I have enough with the prejudgements about my comedic stuff no top of that!), so... "why not? Let's embrace the madness!". And so this creature was born. A bit premature, tho, because despite having a lot of time I barely started with the arrangement 2 weeks before deadline, and the video was literally started in the latest 1 or 2 days and I underestimated some of the complications I had last minute. As a consequence, the music's production is a bit too rough (not that my other mixes are that great anyways) and the video has some important graphical glitches (text-related especially) and lacks many of the cool ideas I had to make everything more dynamic and varied. But still proud of what was able to have done in the given time. Also adding that, just like 2024 was Phantasia year, 2025 will probably be Quintet year for me. That is: games like Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia, Soul Blazer, Actraiser, Robotrek... which might be my main focus this year. Hopefully that'd eventually lead to a proper Quintet games full music tribute similar to my recent "Songs of Phantasia", rather than the comedic short EP I did in mid 2022.
