Unpeeling the Onion & Benjamin Button

from Posture-lating with Posture Ellie · host Posture Ellie

In this episode, Posture Ellie walks listeners through why we can compare our body and our posture to the layers of onion. As the years go on and dysfunctions and compensations take more and more of a hold on our movement patterns, we create many different 'layers' that have to unpicked in a different order. As you peel away the latest layer of compensation, you reveal the one hiding below it. This process can be confusing and disheartening because it's like playing 'whack-a-mole' with new sensations and old pains resurfacing, as your body begins to move differently and lose its normal 'stabilisers'. We call this the 'Benjamin Button Effect', as you navigate your posture journey, you'll find you re-experience pain and tension you had years ago .. and this is a good thing as you're going back in time and challenging the status quo for your body. When you status quo is challenged, change occurs. Change is what will create your new body!Other Info- Pre-order my book ‘Posture Power’ - https://watkinspublishinglinks.com/posture-power- Start your one month free trial of The Posture Squad - https://posture-ellie.com/the-posture-squadWebsite - posture-ellie.comYouTube & Socials - @postureellieCredits for Intro theme: Life is Good 2 by Beat Mekanik, Source: Free Music Archive, License Type: CC BY
