Untangling the Spiritual Yarn: A Raw Look at My Healing Process

from The Spiritual Shitshow Podcast · host Julie Nguyen

Send us Fan MailThe messiest, most beautiful parts of the spiritual journey often remain hidden beneath inspirational quotes and glossy transformation stories. Today, I'm pulling back the curtain on my personal healing process – a journey that has taken me much longer than I ever wanted to admit. My healing has felt like untangling knotted yarn – painstaking, frustrating, and seemingly endless at times. Despite deeply connecting with spirituality since childhood, I've found myself repeatedly shackled by past traumas and limiting stories. The path hasn't been the serene, Instagram-worthy experience many portray. It's been days crying on the floor, identity crises, anger, confusion, and wondering if I'd ever truly heal.During a recent surrender meditation coinciding with April's full moon, I experienced a profound breakthrough. While processing resurfaced grief and frustration that old wounds kept reappearing, I suddenly understood: pain isn't just an obstacle – it's the doorway itself. More accurately, it's a hallway we must fully walk through to find freedom. Behind my anger was sadness, and behind that sadness? The freedom I'd been seeking all along. When I left my business years ago, I felt both devastated and liberated simultaneously. Though I broke free from my cage that day, old belief systems kept pulling me back in. What's different now is having an authentic support system – something I've never experienced before. I've found a community of people who can hold space for my messy truth without trying to fix it, allowing me to finally sustain the freedom I glimpsed years ago. What does a liberated life look like for you? What does freedom feel like in your body? And most importantly, do you have the authentic support needed to hold you in that new space when you find it? Share your thoughts and experiences – your story might be exactly what someone else needs to hear.Support the show✨ Thank you for tuning into this episode of Spiritual Shitshow!
