USL Protests Continue, Club Debuts, Jason From I Hate Soccer
from Morning Kickaround · host Good Ball, LLC
Welcome to Monday on Morning Kickaround! Today’s Long Balls start with the USL and their ongoing labor saga. Protests continued into the second week of the season with several being joined by chanting fans supporting their cause. On the plus side, several expansion sides completed their quest to #DotTheMap by playing their first game. A couple USL League One sides joined two NWSL expansion outfits in playing their first matches this weekend. Jason Collinsworth from the I Hate Soccer podcast joins the show to explain why he does, yet doesn’t, actually hate soccer. He talks about the flaws in the youth system in this country and how we can go about making it better for everyone involved. Finally, does MLS have an obligation to alert fans in advance when Lionel Messi is not going to play in a given game?
