Ob prazniku države, Dnevu državnosti, smo se pogovarjali z ravnateljico javnega zavoda NUK, Narodne in univerzitetne knjižnice, dr. Jano Kolar. NUK je nacionalna knjižnica Republike Slovenije in največja knjižnica v državi. Njena osnovna naloga je zbiranje, urejanje, hranjenje in posredovanje slovenske pisne kulturne dediščine. NUK poleg nacionalne opravlja še vrsto drugih funkcij, je tudi osrednja državna knjižnica, univerzitetna knjižnica Univerze v Ljubljani, center za razvoj slovenskih knjižnic in osrednja znanstvena knjižnica v Sloveniji. Narodna univerzitetna knjižnica je bila 28. julija 2021 dodana na seznam Unescove svetovne dediščine v okviru vpisa Dela Jožeta Plečnika v Ljubljani – urbano oblikovanje po meri človeka.
