In relation to music industry standards, 6 years between records could be a kiss of death. But for a band like Sleepyhead, it's just what they needed to incubate a collection of songs carefully crafted at legendary Q Division Studios. Life and all of it's roadblocks didn't help the timeframe, but did inform the content. The result? A deeply profound, mature album rolling through the ups and downs of life in perfect sonic harmony. And I have been looking forward to this conversation for quite some time. The idea of approaching anyone, let alone a trio, to pick a record that speaks to their influences and aspirations, can be incredibly difficult. But Sleepyhead came up with a great and relative choice for all three members that can speak to their influences and left plenty to discuss at the same time.
