She holds an appointment as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and is a F. Edward Hébert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship recipient. Verity is originally from Colorado and enlisted in the Air Force as a Public Health Technician in 2010. After getting stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ, she began attending Rutgers University at night after her duty day and graduated with her B.S. in Public Health while still serving on active duty in 2017. Soon after graduating, she was one of eight airmen selected from the Air Force to participate in a post-baccalaureate program sponsored by the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences called EMDP2.
