“Victoria’s BEST wine region!” Revealed in 3...2...1... 🍷

from Got Somme : Master Sommelier's Wine Podcast · host SESSION in PROGRESS

Chardonnay can be a divisive wine when really it shouldn't! If you don't like Chardonnay chances are you probably just don't like over oaked Chardonnay. The grape variety itself is actually neutral and if you were to taste a Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Chardonnay next to a William Fevre Petit Chablis you would be mistaken for thinking they are two completely different grape varietals. The difference? Oak One with plenty and one without any! In this episode of Got Somme, Yarra Valley local Brenden Robnik aka 'The Wine Animal' joins us in studio to deep dive his favourite Australian wine region while also looking at the complex differences altitude can make on Chardonnay separated only by a few kilometres. Disagree that the Yarra Valley is the best wine region in Victoria?
