Victory Secured & The Road to Emmaus: Joshua 11–12 and Luke 24 (Day 117)

What happens when the promises of God finally become a reality? Today in Joshua, we see the culmination of years of struggle as the Northern kings are defeated, the land finally rests from war, and a detailed list of conquered kings serves as a "receipt" of God’s faithfulness. In the Gospel of Luke, we move from the silence of the tomb to the shock of the Resurrection. We join the women at the empty tomb and walk alongside two discouraged disciples on the road to Emmaus, discovering that the "conquering King" didn't come to take a throne by force, but to redeem the world through His suffering and rising.Today’s Scripture:📖 Joshua 11–12 – The Northern coalition of kings, led by Jabin of Hazor, assembles an army "as numerous as the sand on the seashore," yet Joshua defeats them just as the Lord commanded. Chapter 12 provides a complete list of the 31 kings defeated by Moses and Joshua, marking the end of the initial conquest.📖 Luke 24:1–35 – The women find the stone rolled away and receive the angelic message: "He is not here, but has risen." Later that day, Jesus appears incognito to two followers traveling to Emmaus. As He explains how the Law and the Prophets pointed to Him, their hearts burn within them, and they finally recognize Him in the breaking of the bread.📖 Psalm 51:10–19 – We continue David’s prayer of repentance.
