Vikings Daily Opener, May 19th, 2023

In this episode, the Minnesota Vikings are looking to make improvements to their offense and team for the 2023 NFL season. According to Pro Football Network's Arif Hasan, the Vikings are projected to have the 12th-best offense in the league for the upcoming season. While the team struggled defensively last season, there is hope that the offense, led by Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson, will step up and lead the team to success. The Vikings have made some key additions to their offense, including first-round wide receiver Jordan Addison and blocking tight end Josh Oliver. While there are concerns about the pass protection provided by the interior line, there is optimism that these players, as well as others on the team, will be able to step up and improve the team's performance. In addition to focusing on the offense, the Vikings are also looking to use their salary cap space to extend players and sign free agents. Suggestions have included extending Danielle Hunter and Justin Jefferson, as well as signing players like Marcus Peters, Jadeveon Clowney, and Justin Houston. By using their cap space wisely, the Vikings hope to build a competitive team for the upcoming season. Outside of football, the Vikings are also hosting a free public celebration of Bud Grant's life at U.S. Bank Stadium on May 21st. The event will pay tribute to the legendary coach and his contributions to the team and the region. Attendees are encouraged to wear Vikings or outdoors apparel to honor Grant, and the event will feature speakers, panel discussions, and memorial videos. Overall, the Vikings are looking to make significant improvements to their team for the upcoming NFL season. With key additions to the offense and savvy use of their salary cap space, the team hopes to build a competitive team that can challenge for a playoff spot.
