Villanova grads receive a special message from Pope Leo

During Villanova's graduation on Tuesday, President Father Peter Donohue surprised the crowd with special message from Pope Leo, a 1977 grad. “The world beyond Villanova is waiting for you, sometimes with open arms, and sometimes with truly dangerous intent. You will have the challenge and the opportunity to make a big difference, if you carry with you those Augustinian values of Veritas, Unitas, Caritas," the pope wrote. The pontiff told the graduates to reflect on the values of the Declaration of Independence during the country's 250th birthday. He said, "May the graduates of 2026 always be faithful to the guiding light that has been so important for these 250 years.
