We need to look at these numbers again. I think today is the day. I feel it in my heart. Maybe, just maybe, we finally reached our goal after all this time. Do you think so?All right, love. I have all the documents here. The savings account records, the salary balance, the list of expenses, even the little notebook where we wrote every coin we saved. It feels unreal. For 2 years, we refused eating outside. We walked instead of taking taxis. We avoided vacations. And now, here we are.You know, I am proud of ourselves. Yeah.Yes. Me, too. I am so happy. We sacrificed so much. Do you remember when I wanted a new phone and you wanted a new computer? But we said no. We said, "Our house first." Remember? We held on to that dream like life depended on it. And now, these numbers, Lucas, look. Look carefully. We finally have enough for the initial payment of either a house or an apartment. What? Wait. You mean... Oh God. We did it? After all those nights eating pasta because it was cheap. After saying no to cinemas, no to restaurants, no to unnecessary clothes. After all that effort, we really made it. Did we?Yes, honey. We did it. We saved enough. For real. This is not a dream anymore. This is our new life right in front of us. I feel like crying. I feel like jumping. I feel... I feel like hugging you forever. I am so happy. Come here. Let me hold you. I am proud of us. Of you. Of your patience, your discipline, your strength. We talked about this so many times imagining our home. A place that belongs to us. And now comes the big question. A house or an apartment? We have to choose.I knew it. I knew you would go there fast. You want a house. I know that. You imagine a big backyard, a dog running, a grill, maybe a garden, a big parking space. But, Lucas, I have to tell you, a house is expensive. The maintenance, the repairs, the taxes, everything costs more.Of course, I know that. But a house gives us space, Emma. Real space. We could have our own yard, our privacy. No noisy neighbors. No elevators breaking every month. No rules about pets or music. A house feels like freedom. I dream of waking up and hearing birds, not people fighting in the hallways or footsteps from upstairs. That's an idea I hate.Yeah, I get it. Space is nice. Yes. But think of safety. An apartment often has security, cameras, guards, controlled access. We could feel safer at night, traveling, working. And cleaning a house is a big job. We are only two. An apartment is easier, faster, more manageable for our time and lifestyle.Easy, yes. But small, confined, limited. What if we want a family one day? Kids need the space to run, to play, to fall without hitting a neighbor's door. A house gives life room to grow.I understand. But an apartment gives life stability. Lower cost, fewer repairs, heating and cooling are easier. We could use the saved money to travel someday. Just imagine. Imagine us in Paris or walking on some beach with drinks in our hands. An apartment could help us live more, not work only to pay bills.I totally understand. But we're going for the house anyway.
